Missing my Old VR and might do a deal!

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Right I've had loads of VR's in my time and really missing my Old one. So after spending a fortune getting a RX7 and tuning it up no matter how much power i've got it doesnt compair to the love I have for my VR's.

My Old VR was only around 200bhp but the sound was second to none - how i missed Chilling in Fifth as listening to my baby purr

I now have an mint Black RX7 Type R1, Been rebuild and then tunned by Hayward Rotary to produce 360+bhp - thats 300-310 to the wheels. These cars are light and the power delivery is instant.

Its got RX8 rims, red leather seats, all electrics, tinted windows, big IC, Apexi ECU and Commander, De-Cat, downpipe, full 4" system, blitz induction, all samco, converted to non-sequential, New MOT, 6 months TAX (1300cc so cheap tax) and more.

I've spent around £8-9k in total and if i was to sell i'd be looking for £7500 min I guess.

Just wondering if anyone was bored with there supercharged VR's and fancy something quicker.

I've seen some VR's on here which look nice without chargers, if your interested then add the price of a charger on with your car and we might have a deal.

Ideally looking for a 3 door golf - but might go Rado if it has leather.

If anyone can point me in the right direction i'd be greatful

Hope to hear from you soon guys!!

Looks a tidy motor, so you would prefer a fwd vr6 on koni coilovers compared to a 4wd r32 golf? that suprises me cus a few people on here has praised the r32 for grip ect...and its more than twice the price!

not sure your going to have much luck wioth a part ex on here, nice idea tho.

Nope I hate the MK4 and MK5 sadly - think they are a big disapointment in the VW world :-(

I drove a R32 and it didnt have the feel of my VR and its twice the price!! lol hate the body roll' date=' hate the heldex 4wd system - wish it was a proper quattro.

I know what you mean about the body roll in the R32 but it's the same in the VR6 and the suspension is the first thing I would change on both cars.

I do like the MK2 but the build quality of the mk3 is just brilliant and for every day use I'll take that over anything.

I'll wait for after christmas and sell my RX7 as the mazda boys have already taken big interest in her.

Then i'll be looking for a Charged VR 3dr on coilovers with some mint deep alloys (well ideally anyway) hehe
