Futch 0 Posted August 18, 2007 Report Share Posted August 18, 2007 Hello all,The manifold on my VR6 is looking a bit dull, how can I get a new look to it?I don't want a bling finish, just a nice matt silver finish.Have already tried degreaser and wire brushes. vdubgirl 3 Posted April 10, 2008 Report Share Posted April 10, 2008 I took about 3 weekends of pure cleaning of my old mk3's engine bay to get it to look like this - but it paid off!!!Engine and bay was cleaned with a strong engine cleaner ( I used TFR chemicals) Then I used a scrubbing brush and wire wool on the manifold and other metal parts followed by a lot of cuts to my hands and broken nails and plenty of polishing with metal cleaner!!!!
