does the manifold come off easily though, or is it a long process to get it off? James

how much can a vr6 engine take?
Downton replied to H13VYY's topic in Engine Maintenance and Problems
My VR6 is coming upto 136,000 miles. Ive had the car a few years. Haven't had any problems with it apart from a small oil leek which I had repaired straight away. ...and it still just loves to be revved best engine I've ever had - there just so strong! -
Yeh I see what your saying... i have considered getting a TDI but I'd miss the sound of my VR6. I have two gas stations both within 10miles of my house so filling up around home won't be difficult, it's just the long journeys that would be difficult. and don't even tempt me with a super charger but cheers for the advice mate

Thanks for your comment, why wouldn't you touch it? It's been said that by 2010 fuel prices will be at an all time high, diesel being the most expensive.

Has anyone done this to a golf vr6? If so, is it worth doing? Is there a performance loss? Apreciate any views on doing this cheers, James
