iv heard from a few people that liquid soda crystal spray is great for cleaning alloys removing brake dust etc also for cleaning windows any 1 tried it cos if it works its a bllody cheap way of keeping the wheels mint 1.50 a bottle. my wheels should be back fully refurbed by thursday might try it next time they need a wash

so is it just a case of spraying it on and leaving for few minutes do you still need to use a lot of elbow grease or is it much easier, does it just rinse off, wonder wheels served me well expensive though

I notice a lot of you have commented on polished parts, nought wrong there, but have any of you taken it that one stage further and laquered after the polishing to preserve the shine and last longer??

No I'm not kidding, it can be done...just a thought from the custom car days...

Ive had polished and lacquered wheeel on my Saab - the oe 16" Aero wheels i had on that had a dished diamond cut rim - the only problem was that the lacquer would lift after about 18 months.

Probably not helped by hot brake pad dust hitting the rim and melting its way through the lacquer :( - good idea in practice but imho it wont last - look at the oe BBS splits that came on the M-sport E36 coupe BM's - they had exactly the same problem.
