Valver 0
Noticed today that my mk2 VR6 was making a funny grinding/scraping noise under acceleration - popped the bonnet and found that the head of the bolt that bolts the front bracket onto the vibra mount had sheared off!!!Does anyone know what sort of guarantee they come with, as i bought it brand new about 18 months ago and wouldn't expect this to happen as it's specifically for a mk2 Golf with a VR6 engine? Also, never heard of it happening before to anyone?...TIA. ingham 5
you can get new insert for £80 from vibratechnics ,ive just done mine ,not impressed with it ,i would not get another vibratechnics mount now as they seem to have short life span,my old one is only half split on the rubber still works if a bit sloppy.. As thats what snapped on mine - like you say, not overly impressed for the money...I assumed it was a fit and forget type of part.. :-(
purple highline monster 0
sounds like a waste of money all round! if a supposed uprated item only last 18 months its worth getting someone to machine a solid one up for you, now you have the "pattern" just get a solid alloy or steel one fabricated, makes more sense

ingham 5
Vibra-Technics Front Engine Mount VAG750MDesigned as a replacement for the original equipment engine mount, it consists of a cast aluminium housing to fit the existing front cross member and a replaceable insulator element. It gives outstanding dynamic performance and durability. The VR6 mount is ideal for a VR6 conversion offering a higher load carrying capacity; and competition mount for use where loads are higher and comfort is a low priority which is 3 times stiffer than the virbratechnics Mk2 front engine mount."replaceable insulator element"wish they said how short the life of insert was
