Always 5 door ones too.Saw 1 of them a couple of days and had to look twice as thought it was a Highline, but just a GTi.There has been a post about this before.Sold my Highline last October to Gibs20 on here. Focker-out 0 Posted March 2, 2007 Report Share Posted March 2, 2007 I can safely put a weeks wages on them all being R plate, wearing Solitudes(unless they have been changed) and all have air con!!Suth african built models imported after wolfsburg changed to building the mk4,they were imported to meet demand for the mk3 at the end of its life.IIRC they aint mulberry the paint code is different as these are slightly darker Link to post Share on other sites

VR40 0 Posted March 3, 2007 Report Share Posted March 3, 2007 they still build the mk1 golf in south africa as well.It's called a Golf Citi, they are a cross between the mk1 and mk2, the rear quarters are different on them, the cars are slightly larger, a guy in Guildford cruses around town in it, think it's a T reg.
