mike 6
ok, just a few guys sayin there 16v's can keep up with a normal vr6. ok cool
Eat this 2
not much to see realy hes claiming a well loked after 16v will keep up with a ropey vr6 and i agree hed never be quicker but he could get close enough
goonersteve 0
Yeah i mean, wasn't one our VR's on here only putting out around 130bhp on the RR day? Still, he seems to be getting a bit carried away, bless him! And why would you want to put NOS on a car that has 160k or whatever it is on the clock?!
Eat this 2
nos is actually good for the engine if its fitted/setup properly the horror stories you hear are caused by crap systems or poor fitting and sometimes silly mistakes by the owner
Luke 0
hahaha, this makes me laugh alot :-d The bloke on their named matt82 used to live round the corner to me,me & him have lined up side by side more times than ive cleaned my teeth, his 16v is running 176bhp @ the fly,my vr eats him every time over & over Tbh its very quick when its rolling but of the line its not a touch to my old vr,by 3rd i would have always pulled about 6 car lenghts on him Cant beat the sound of the vr too, gti's sound poo,i should know after all i have got 1 :$
mike 6
i found it a boring read tbh.altho if you look around the web i bet youl find people propper slagging off vr6s! comaring them to subaru/supra ect wich is not how VW intended
Russ_vr6 12
lol so true mate,i mean the other week i had a 16v clio keep with me through 2nd gear, now ok he only had say 140 ish bhp,but having owned a few i know how quick they are,and also how short ratio the box is,i know i was half way through 3rd when he was goin into 4th. oh and by then i was half way down the dual carrageway too lolnow he could say i kept with a vr and fair play he wasnt far at lower speeds, but thats what they were made for,the fact that the vr can carry on to 150 with no strain and keep it up all day long is a fact i can live with
mike 6
yea i actually stayed even with a subaru at high speeds but pulled back due to wanting to keep my licence.i dont race my vr, i dont really see it as a mega powerfull car just love the thing
thegoth 5
To my mind 16vers are 'sub': they love to get canned and scream with it. VR6s are 'dom': do something wrong and you're are going to get hurt.;-)
lee060 3
nothing , and i mean nothing in the vw stable can beat a VR on noise ! they sound absolutely awesome!! as for how quick , well id like to see all these 4pots keep with a vr above 100mph
