Vince has recomended Schrick 268 cams to go with my Schrick, Im happy enough with the torqe, just want some more top end!

Im currently at 210BHP as you know, what sort of power gains should I expect to get after fitting, ive already got a Dastek Unichip, so a remap should see them running nice....Also, how much are they generally?

10 bhp gain would be about right, yes you do loose bottom end torque which is why I choose them in order to put less strain on the auto box.

The Schrick cams are better quality in my opinion but come with a price £500.

If anyone is after some 264 kent cams PM me.

You don't lose any bottom end if you've got a Schrick manifold. Not sure about the 2.8 but on the 2.9 with VGI the cams add even more torque to the 2500-3500 rpm VGI surge and then it just goes nuts from 4000 onwards. Only draw back is the dip in power when the flap opens is slightly more noticable.

Speaking of the flap, Vince and I were looking a plot of standard v Schricked and there is actually more torque at 1500 with the standard manifold than the Schrick, by like 10-15lb! So we're thinking 2 flap points would be better. Open up to say 1500, then closed till 4000, then open again. Progressive opening would also reduce the stepped power delivery too but that will be difficult to implement.

I have just checked the piper cam website, they do give 15 bhp not 10 , i guess schrick will be the same too, either way they seem to be a good one to go for if you are staying normally aspirated. I will be selling mine if i go charged tho as 248 are one of the best to get then
