Guys,

Took my VR6 to Pro Tyre in Bristol to have the VR6 adjusted since i scuffed my rim (Tw@ i know! :-( ) and also some fool scuffed the rear wheel arch a couple of months back and nudged the tyre (and they didn't leave their details-surprised?)and its not been sitting the same since eg a slight crabbing feeling when moving.

The guys at Pro Tyre sorted the front but the rear was way out, he said it's properly due to the knock the rear got. He couldn't sort it as the rear isn't adjustable. He had the same thing on his Mk4 Golf and said the only solution was to buy a new axle! As its going to be slightly bent :-#

What do you guys think? Am i really going to have to fork out for a new axle?

surely you only need a stub axle that holds the bearing and disc onto the rear beam, ie not the whole rear beam itself?

they are easily found and not that dear new form vw, the rear is "adjustable" but only if you unbolt it a bit and smack it wiv a big hammer! helps 4 wheel align sometimes if its shifted around
