kalv 0
I enquired at Stealth about my VR6 (1997 - OBD II) and they said there wasn't much point unless you have proper engine mods - I assume they were referring to a full Induction Kit, Full exhaust system etc - as I only have a BMC panel filer and Scorpion rear box. Anyone else heard this?I want slightly better fuel economy, but the power is a good bonus
Steve @ 1
OBD I presponds better to a remap 10-15bhp extra. OBDII is more advanced then OBD1 and the gains arent as big.Kalv is yours a corrado? as that'll be OBDI.Also I would go with stealth racing, AMD have gone down the pan. kalv 0
I've got a 1997 MK3 VR6 for the misses (Corrado is mine) and I think I will need to do some more to her car before a remap will show any decent gains? As the Corrado is OBDI, does the remap still yield 10-15bhp? Stealth is only down the M40 for me, so obvious choice.
burt 0
i went to look a t a vr6 earlier it has an obd1 ecu which has been re-mapped...it pops and bangs alot and also flamed quite alot...should this be happening from a remap, also revved past 7000rpm and has a full exhaust and decat alsops is there a place in england called OBD tuning? as thats where the work was apparantly done, seems along way to travel from N.Ireland for a re map...any feedback appreciatedCheers
kalv 0
The popping could be the decat (got a decat on my WRX and it pops a bit between gears)... as for the flames.. over-fueling perhaps.. was the remap done after the exhaust?
burt 0
yeah the fella says it was only re-mapped a few weeks ago by a company called obd tuning in england?he lives in belfast N.Ireland though....maybe im just over cautious but it seems funny that its only been remapped and now he wants to sell, plus the car has no history to verify servicing or mileage...so i think its a definite no no
