  1. yeah the fella says it was only re-mapped a few weeks ago by a company called obd tuning in england?he lives in belfast N.Ireland though....maybe im just over cautious but it seems funny that its only been remapped and now he wants to sell, plus the car has no history to verify servicing or mileage...so i think its a definite no no
  2. i went to look a t a vr6 earlier it has an obd1 ecu which has been re-mapped...it pops and bangs alot and also flamed quite alot...should this be happening from a remap, also revved past 7000rpm and has a full exhaust and decat also ps is there a place in england called OBD tuning? as thats where the work was apparantly done, seems along way to travel from N.Ireland for a re map...any feedback appreciated Cheers
  3. no dont get me wrong mate im def not after something like an evo or anything, way too expensive for me.i just wanted to try something different as ive owned most of the other hot hatch type cars available, but yet to own a golf...only real problem being i live in Belfast N.Ireland and they are few and far between over here
  4. it seems the OBD2 is the one to go for then?these are 96 onwards arent they? the civic has a good power to weight ratio but im sure a vr will have better midrange plus loads more torque....vtec sounds nice but a vr is one of the nicest sounding cars ive heard, ive been searching for a sound clip on here lol
  5. how bad are we talikng on fuel mate?id say the civic gives between 35 and 40mpg at a constant 60mph on the motorway very sensible driving or more like 25 around town/giving it some stick..is a vr6 much worse?
  6. hello everyone sorry if this has been asked loads just joined the site and am looking into buying a VR6,ive always thought they were cool and the nicest sounding motor about...im just looking your opinions on performance, reliabilty, fuel consumption and handling etc i dont rag the shit out of a car but i like something tight to drive and with a bit of power at the minute i have a 1993 civic vti, around 170bhp and weighs 1040kgs it sits with a new type R so wondering how a vr would stand up against it...i miss having some torque also...but its well put together and a good all rounder any comments
