MarkGolf 6
Basically..If I put a 2.8 Golf lump in place of the 2.9 ump, would it run OK?
MarkGolf 6
Poo, just found out its a 1997 lump, so Im guessing its a coilpack! My engine is a corrado 1994 ABV.. Dizzy isn't it?Well, what would happen now, if its even compatible? If not, can I just put the bottom block(mechanical side of things) in place of the broken corrado bits..[ Edited Tue Jun 15 2004, 11:50PM ]
acf8181 0
i believe engines can be swapped from coilpack to dizzy and vice versa quite easily. i'm sure mr. phatvr6 was saying about it on cgti a long time ago.
VR6Steve 0
Yeah, I think our mate helped someone the other week to do this. Late engine into a dizzy car.
kilokilla 0
basically the same lump just slightly larger on bores as far as im aware so as long as you use your dizzy engine parts on it it should be quite straight forward
FishWick 21
94 Corrado ABV engines are coilpack equipped. To run a dizzy on the AAA or ABV, you need the relevant brain, side plate (cam sensor-less one) and of course the dizzy and HT coil, leads etc. And also the requisite cam sprocket on the inlet cam to drive the dizzy.ABV cams are more aggressive than AAA ones too.[ Edited Thu Jun 17 2004, 10:23PM ]
