This is where the chains are mate. If you have excessive noise it could be time to exchange your chains, tensioners and guides. It's not such a bad job but does take a little time.

id recommend upgrading the top tensioner to a single piece item off a late 12v. I have a spare if you want it but your best bet is to buy a kit.

Search for the kits mate. Includes all you need. Get a kit with yellow top tensioner as its a single piece and likely last longer/ not shit itself resulting in bits circulating in oil.

Timing chains are on the right side of the engine bud, if it rattling, it's due a change.
Not sure of part numbers but there is an upper chain and a lower chain, plus guides and tensions rs will be required.

I just did this on my Corrado. I'm told it can be done without removing the dash but I took the dash out to inspect everything.
the foam on the directional flaps in your heater box will be more like dust now. I removed the lot and covered each flap with self adhesive felt from British felt website. Great service from British felt.

valeo matrix were oem if you can find one.

If you want Wossner and PEC stuff, try VRT. (VRTonline.co.uk) They are the cheapest I've found in the UK for this stuff.
Mention me and you might even get a further discount!
One thing I would recommend is speaking to the machine shop BEFORE you have any work done on the block, or buy the pistons! They can advise then on what size pistons would be best for your block once machined, can be a costly mistake if the block ends up being too big for your pistons once you've had it sorted!

Roughly £50 on eBay.de buddy. It's easy to find in engine bay, has two coolant hoses attached to it. They are prone to leaking/ failing over time.
