A little late on this update but better late than never
Got the majority of it built back up:
Stuck the Merc's on it for the time being:
Built the inside back up:
And got her taken to TRIX!
So for the moment she's in Dougies capable hands - and will update properly with the work & photos when i get her back -
Think i'll go for it and see what happens

Should be the link updated now dude

Just a few questions really.
Looking to use 5m of this wire:
35mm2, Will this be alright?
Also what size of fuse to use in the boot, 80A?
Cheers,
Greg

-
Thanks Luke, absolute top chap!
By the time I've finished this build there will be a crate of beer coming your way from all the questions you've answered haha!
-
Cheers Jim!
Got the bum doon! She's looking very dirty and rather sorry for herself!
Old:
Some New:
Engines now looking somewhat like this with some more coolant hoses helping it look messy:
Brakes Mounted up ready to bleed:
Although the wheels hit the calipers and i have taken the paint off already haha:
Testing some 5mm spacers to see how that pans out
If anyone can help with which wires go where here, i would be grateful!
Also picked up these from a member on here via ebay
Thanks for looking, c+c welcome

Thats the exact one i meant - found it on page 22 - http://www.vr6oc.com/e107_plugins/forum/forum_viewtopic.php?139931.210
Got a few queries:
How are the hoses connected into where the reservoir usually slots? Just the plastic bonded into place with hoses clipped over?
Are there only the 3 connections from the reservoir, one to each port and one on the slave for the clutch?
Thanks

The link should work now, Thanks Pete!
I heard of it on a thread on this forum, though can't find which one now lol
If i can get any more info, i'll give it a go and write up a guide, just struggling to find much tbh!
-
This is awesome!
Nice write up

Any help?
My current thoughts are to move it to the right of the engine bay, and mount it on the bulkhead and use something like this:
http://www.greatoldone.co.uk/galleries/chassis-build/14528071
Would i then take one hose from the reservoir to the clutch slave cylinder and two back to the original push fittings?
-
I have my reservoir off ready to give this a go and wondering how this is done?
I have had a read in the universal turbo thread, though need a bit more info really, if anyone can help that would be great!
-
Thanks Paul!

Anyone?
What diameter of pipework do people run for there wastegates?
-
Cheers lads!
I'm using an ATP clone manifold Daverse
If i make up a pipe from them manifold to the wastegate and then have another flange directly onto the downpipe? What diameter should this pipework be?
-
-
I'm now at the stage in my conversion, where i'm looking at the downpipe
My set up is slightly different to the one in the DIY turbo thread and the wastegate will be coming almost straight on to where the downpipe starts, will this be a problem? I have attached a photo, to get an idea,
The two lambda sensors, will these be best as far down the downpipe as possible, just before a flexi?
Thanks all!
-
Absolutely spot on!
I owe you a beer Pete!
-
I'll give that a go, cheers dude!
-
Thanks man, unfortunately its a 9 and a half hour drive for myself!
I'll have to see closer to the time, i may make a weekend out of it

Couple of photo's to keep this alive
Got this back from Dougie @ TRIX a while back and here it is:
Messy but functional:
DDI Dials:
Yellow Headlights:
So apart from a few small hiccup's everythings great! Averaging around 27MPG and running 10psi - Boost is really addictive and it surprises a lot! In love with the sound of the screamer pipe!
The main hiccup was getting it running after it had been filled up with fuel - Dougie came to the rescue and spent his sunday working on it (Cant thank him enough for this, the man is an absolute lifesaver!) It turned out the uprated fuel pump in the tank from a donor car had been wired in with scotchlocks!
The most recent hiccup was also due to the previous owner of the donor. The car wouldn't start and in the end traced it down to a oil pressure sensor (blue one) that was jammed with a cunt load of thread tape, Swapped it out & started first time!
There will be more photo's and a full spec list in the next update, At the moment its on daily duties and the plans for the near future are to get her back into Trix for a service, start cleaning up the engine bay & keep my eyes peeled for some new wheels
