  1. Just got my car back with a lovely set of reconditioned original Santa Monica alloys on it (courtesy of Rimtec in Woburn Sands), the only problem is that as they were a genuine set of Santa Monicas the decorative bolts on them were plastic and didn't survive the refurb. Anyone know where I can get a new set of replacement bolts, haven't managed to locate them anywhere.
  2. So as it's happening this weekend - who's coming then? I'm picking my 4mo up Friday after having the wheels refurbed so will bring it along. If anyone wants to convoy with me I'll be leaving home at about 08:58 for the mile trip to Franklin's Gardens.
  3. We'll see on Sunday who gets LV Cup bragging rights then - either way I'll be in black, green and gold ;-)

    Just happened to see this - 3m x 9m Party tent/marquee £80 delivered http://www.thesportshq.com/palm-springs-10-x-30--party-tent--marquee.aspx?AFFILIATE=cj
  5. I started getting a weird twanging noise from the front end today at low speed and with a decent amount of lock. A bit of googling suggests it might be the suspension top mount bearing. How difficult is this to replace? Is it safe to drive (I'm away for the weekend about 80 miles from home)? And how much is it going to cost me to get replaced? Ta

Been a few times and never actually had to pay yet. If i do go this year it'll be on my bike, love zipping passed the queues.
  7. How much should I expect to pay for a Haldex oil and filter change? And has anyone used Lion Garage (independent VW & Audi specialist) in Northampton?
  8. I've actually been tempted to do the battery cover and air box. Putting racing stripes on my son's 107 was bad enough. Can't imagining doing the whole roof.
  9. That'd be me then. It was a pleasure chasing you down the M1 (once we'd got passed that Jazz lol).
  10. I have a 17 year old - and he can pick me up from the pub - that's the definition of awesome! lol
  11. My son has a 107 - it's buzzes round town brilliantly - and will handle motorway work as well, but as you say the boot is ridiculous. Can't argue with 50mpg though
  12. Congratulations! In my experience your new arrival can have problems with noxious particulates in the exhaust output. Best left to female experts to deal with ;-)
  13. I'll be going. It's almost literally on my doorstep. I'm a season ticket holder at Saints.
  14. Here are some pics of my 2001 4Motion 5dr. She's fairly standard right now. Plans to refurb the wheels, get the paint work sorted and then some mild performance mods (induction kit etc).
  15. While changing the rear lights on my 4mo earlier this week I lost one of the nearside nuts (if you've ever had to take the lights off you'll know which one it was). It seems fairly secure with just the two other nuts holding it in but want to do the job properly obviously. Looking to get a replacement nut, and I know the outside of the nut is 8mm, but what size thread do I need? Ta

  17. Bugger. I live 10 mins away from Billing but will be the other side of the pond. Will have to break my meet cherry somewhere else.
  18. Just read a recent post in the What's It Worth section - looks like people can pick up a nice set for £100-150 with some rubber on. So looks like I'll hold onto them and potentially make them my winter set after having some but not too much work done on them. Might have a go at refurbing them myself.
  19. Just after I bought my 4Mo I invested in a second set of Santa Monica alloys off of eBay. A couple of the originals on my car were in a poorer state than I wanted and so I made a decent set out of the 8, leaving me with 4 spare now. So here's my dilemma. Sell them as they are - 3 with tyres on, 1 with tyre off but I have the tyre to go on it. All tyres are road legal but would probably need replacing fairly soon. One rim is badly kerbed, all have water damage. Or have them all professionally refurbished and stick some tyres on them. The second option would end up with 4 as new wheels with new
  20. Lanyards and key rings would be good.
