forgot to give you an update. pressure tested, no sign of hg. thermostat and housing changed on the cheap thanks to dman-vrts link. £28!!! bargain. no coolant lossed so far. everything seems ok. thanks everyone for advice. this site is awesome, think its time to become a premium member.

i might be interested. what are they 6k or 8k? cant imagine they are worth the hassle buying/selling second hand, they're only £50 on ebay. may take them off your hands all the same. Il have a think

ok so theyre h1 for dipped and h3 for full beam? I thought they were h1 for each

can anyone shed a little light on why when looking for hid kits and I put my car make and model in, they come up with h1 on some sites and h4 on others? surely h1 will need 2 kits, one for dipped and one for full?

there is no yellow wires . is it the permanent live and ignition wires I am swapping over? because i think ive located them

hi all my stereo loses its settings when I turn the ignition off. I gather there is no constant feed. I thought I had seen a previous thread about this but when searched for I couldnt find it. So I belive I have to swap over a wire, but which ones? any help much apreciated.

its booked in at my local vdub specialist for a pressure test on 3rd december. fingers crossed!

what do you meen torn up and down tunnels? Is this all just bollocks am I just stressing over like a leeking therm housing or something?

the fans come on. I think the expansion tank is ok and how do I check the thermo housing is ok. surely if I dont see any sign of leeks...... gona have to get it pressure tested arent I?

ok cheers. fairly certain its not the coolant reservoir cap seel as it seems to be seeled or atleast it lets out alot of gas when I open it when its hot.
