    Is it desperate? I've heard some people say it's normal for VRs to whine when cold? Could this be why it's tappety when cold too?

    Hi all, I'm into my second week of VR ownership and I've noticed a couple of nasty sounding nioses coming from under the bonnet when cold Most noticable is a whine that goes up and down with the revs. I've done a search on here and general concensus is that this is the oil pump and it's normal for it to whine when cold. Is this right? I'm a little worried as when the car went in for service I was told the sump had been changed at some point and the new one had been hit as well. The pick up pipe was dented but repairable. This has been repaired now but it's made no difference. Also, the car sou

    You'll need the door ones too as they're slightly different. A full set is your best bet. I'd guess you'd be looking to pay about a maximum of £30 from a breakers (about £5 for each of the 6 pieces) Hope this helps Aaron
