I have decided to go and (hopefully) purchase my first VR6 at the weekend. Its gonna be an epic trip from Devon to Suffolk and back. I'll let you know how I get on.

I got a 196k Mk3 Golf Gti. Had belt done at 150k. engine feels like its just starting to get run in, silky smooth, rest of car falling apart!

Since I am still looking for a VR6 I just wondered what it was like for you guys. How did you feel buying your VR6? What did you have before? Did it all go to plan? What's your story?

Hi, I am still looking to buy my first VR6, can't make up my mind. Wondered if any of you who live nearby the following areas fancied checking out cars I have spotted. There are a couple on Ebay and a couple on Auto Trader. Coventry - There is a nice 5 door Mulberry Highline that I have pondered over with 18" TT Alloys. Suffolk - Very nice standard black Highline (more what I'm after to be honest) Hitchin - again, nice standard black Highline. I am in Plymouth so I have a bit of a trek to anywhere up country.

Other subtle differences I have noticed are pockets on the rear of the front seats and the arm-rest padding on the door cards vary.

I have always had standard size wheels, but was thinking of purchasing a Highline which has 18" alloys. Could anyone explain to me in laymans terms the pros and cons of bigger wheels.

Hi, I mentioned on my introduce yourself page that I'm after a VR6 Highline. 5 door cos the kids keep sayin Dad when you gonna get a car with doors at the back and windows we can open. Prefereably black, Mulberry ok, but what is different about the two exterior blacks? Some I have seen some Highlines listed as Special Edition models. what's that about? One car I am pondering over has 18" wheels. How will this affect the car? bearing in mind I may drive in Europe with the wife, two kids, roofbox, bootful and bikes on the back. (My mk3 Golf Gti managed it with aplomb).
