  2. lol i get spiders too! a big spider crawled out the dash while i was on the motorway and my g/f had a fit! she curled up in her seat crying! obv there was nothing i could do i was doing 70 on the motorway! haha i wish i had a camera the closer it crawled towards her the more she screamed!!

  4. how do i remove the centre air vents? the part that slides has come off and i can see it behind the dash through the air vent so need to get the air vent off and see if i can fish it out and re-attach it!

  6. this happened to me few weeks ago! pain in the ass! i bought a new pedal from vw for £25 and it had the same crappy spot welds. let me know how you get on refitting it as i had alot of trouble getting the white nylon "washers/spacers" back on, was very tight! to re-fit the spring i compressed it in a vice then cable tied the spring so it stayed compressed fitted it in position then cut the cable ties.

  8. yeh that was me! i am a bit heavy footed! i cant resist it just to listen to the vr roar! haha i was in halfords getting some spark plugs but the tools only do sets of 4! where do you work then?
  9. managed to get it half fixed today! just need to get the spring back in! i found there wasnt much detail about doing this job on the net so if any1 needs to do it a few useful tips from me would be... 1. on the end of the rod the pedal pivots on is a square metal washer, which is held in place by part of the washer that bends inside the hollow rod the pedal pivots on. use a small flat head screw driver to lift the part of washer locking it in place. the washer will then slide off easily. 2. the spring is a pain in the ***! but youjust have to use force, with the pedal on the floor again use a
  10. pretty sure if i remove the spring part first it would maybe slide off much easier! can you remember how the spring part comes off? looks like its slid into a groove and the pressure of the spring is keeping it in place if i just pull it out of the groove that should be it off no?
  11. that is a little helpful but its all a bit vague doesnt go into great detail. how do you remove the spring bit? and what order do you put it back together in?

  13. ok i have the metal clip off the end but there is still a round piece of metal stopping the clutch pedal from coming off? its round and hollow so it cant turn... how the hell do i get it off???
  14. so the vr has a broken clutch pedal atm managed to push it to my nans house as it was close to wear it broke and this is how i left it!... hopefully be all fixed in the next few days!
  15. well im back home and dont have the clutch pedal off! i was expecting it to bolt off but then saw this metal clip. i tried tapping it off with a hammer but it just kept turning and i had my dad moaning in my ear not to make it worse so i gave up! i'll do it on my day off when i dont have some1 moaning at me! should have manned up really! lol i'll do it 2moz!

  18. sorry guys any ideas? if i get the clutch pedal off can i do the welding and then just put it back in the car? saves me getting it towed to the garage then! and how did you guys remove the clutch pedal?
