    Insurers have that as a specific restriction - it suggests it's a track car rather than a road car. Their thinking is "Why do you want to remove the rear seats unless it's to make the car lighter? Why do you want the car to be lighter?" You can see how this could look like you want to race. There's also the risk that you might have to carry a passenger or two in the back. Imagine you take a chance and there's an accident and because they're not seated or strapped in the injury or death costs are huge.

    I've had a look at this and yes your insurer offers something called short period cancellation rates rather than pro-rata cancellation. It means that they retain greater chunks of the premium as time goes on than a proportional structure would necessitate. Just pointing you to a page in the policy booklet isn't really the best way to deal with it but maybe explains the rating structure more clearly. It is unfortunate that we didn't respond to your emails. Can you remember which address you sent them to?

    Chris Knott - better prices than most? According to a recent survey by the AA, motor insurance premiums fell by 1% during Q1 of 2015 - the average UK comprehensive motor insurance premium being £530.47 with the direct brokers and price comparison sites.     Phone Quotes v Comparison Sites I often hear members say things like "Yeah, but you won't be able to compete with the price comparison sites will you? - I mean they're just so cheap". And my response is this... Actually we're just as likely to beat an online price as any other.
