  1. same plug? will be looking for an obd1 then
  2. wheres the throttle position sensor then? will any VR6 throttle body fit? or just OBD1? on mine
  3. i might also add the car is running rich as fook at the moment, AND it hesitates a bit lowdown
  4. you're about 55miles from me mate, bit far, although how easy are they to fit?
  5. ISV = idle valve? what am i looking for and how do i check the throttle position sensor?
  6. every now on then, since i've fitted a pipercross air filter (panel) at any time after driving, cold or hot, when i've been driving and then slow down to a stop, when depressing the clutch pedal, the revs drop, and then bounce back, between 400-1100 (max and min range) or it'll cut out all together. i've cleaned the throttle body, and that's not cured it, i only run it on V-power. i'll check the plugs tomorrow, but the leads and coil are fine, as is the dizzy it's a k-reg (1992) OBD1 any help would be awesome cheers Chris
  7. yet another clean today, my excuse is that i was bored, it was sunny, and i had all day to do it, so after the full 1,2,3 meguiars treatment and the bumper trims done, here's how she brushed up i'm falling in love with indian red aswell the colour

thats it, if a flywheel that is made to be lighter goes wrong, then the words law and suit meet together, but if its an oem item that's been modified, then there's nowt you can do, although to be fair i had a lightened flywheel on my ibiza, a stock item that had been machined down (old one on the left ) never had an issue with it, and it revved so much faster

i was thinking about the standard one being lightened to, but in some freak cases on other cars the standard ones have cracked and found their way out of the car through the firewall and kill someone :s so go to vw and buy a new one, then get that machined, fit it, and take the old one back to VW for exchange?

well the oem clutch would be best suited to an oem flywheel i presume?? whats the lightest flywheel around? also, what code are early VR boxes? 02A?
  13. sorry to hijack, but i'm looking at an OBD2 head, i have an OBD1 engine, if i was to get the cams in the OBD2 head reprofiled to be a bit lairier, then i'd have to change the end sprockets to match the original OBD1 sprockets? so would have to change the chains anyway (solves alot of issues in one go really)

when you say complete strip down, do you mean, gearbox out and taken apart completely? or engine taken apart to be honest i was thinking about a new clutch soon, as it's slipping sometimes, so would make sense to fit a new clutch and maybe a lightened flywheel to it whilst the gearbox is off i know on a 16v engines there is a benefit to a lightened flywheel, but is there a benefit to a VR with a lightened fly? N/A power is what i'm after, i've done boost, until i can charge a VR (££££), then maxxing the n/a power is what i'm after

i'm thinking about a spot of engine tuning, and want to stay N/a as the vr sound is worse than crack in terms of addiction lol how are these for a start? 6 branch http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-MK3-GOLF-GTI-VR6-91-4-BRANCH-EXHAUST-RACE-MANIFOLD_W0QQitemZ350193944744QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item51892f88a8&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 Starchip http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-2-8-2-9-VR6-chip-Golf-Passat-Corrado-Jetta-Vento_W0QQitemZ250493191798QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item3a528ec676&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 would these be a good start? then a full
  21. gave her a good clean and polish: Quik Detailer Super Resin Polish Carnabua Wax and Endurance Tyre Gel on the bumper trims here's how she scrubs up : i really like this picture
  22. After a long 2 and a bit years with the ibiza, it finally went ....... BUT i managed to find myself a rather nice looking mk3 golf VR6, in 3 door, so i got on the case and got myself up to leighton buzzard to collect her. The bodywork is a bit tatty, but that can be corrected at a later date. 138k on the clock, and has had everything but the timing chains done, they're all good at the moment, so will address them when it comes to it. It is the earlier OBD1 VR6 engine, and bieng a K reg (1992) it's got a dizzy, not coilpacks like the later OBD1 and OBD2 it is already on jamex coilovers, bu
  23. i can vouch for the excellent quality of longlife exhausts, i plan to get one on my VR
