how many miles to a full tank do you get from your VR6?

i get 240- 250 miles to a tank im using it for work at the moment .im filling it 4-5 times a week at the moment.Dont know how people use these for dailys or does anybody? -
right sorted that problem i nicked a wire in the loom behind the coilpack when putting it back on. have another prob now on start up theres plenty of smoke and when driving theres serious amont of smoke and like a smell of burning oil any ideas what could of caused this

i had the coil pack off and the knock sensor out to clean it now ive put it all back its ticking over very lumpy and stinking of petrol and one of the plugs is soaked in petrol but the others are dry but fairly black or sooty anyone any ideas on this please

i had the same problem turned out to be the slave cylinder

its well serviced you only really hear the knocking on full lock i dont think it has anything to do with that shudder i got though. i did power wash the engine bay doh and then it wouldnt start and when it did i could see a spark on the bottom of the coil pack so thats temperlary taped up till i get one so id say it had more to do with that than anything

forgot to mention the car just completly bogged down when it did shudder

ive had a knocking noise for a while now on the front lower only hear it sometimes when your turning left or right just went out there and the car shuddered on take off and then in second gear aswell and then it was fine again but if i put my foot on the clutch it revs fine no hesitation at all could this be a cv problem inner or outer of is it time to change the clutch Dave

is there any way to tell if its the inner or outer cv joint is on its way out i have a bad knocking on full lock but not sure if its the wheel joint on the tranny side dont want to replace the wrong one cheers guys!

fitted a hid kit today and think i missed something the problem is i took the wire from the side light and conected it to the kit witch ment i lost my side /day time lights but when i turn the lights on to side light the hid's flicker but there ok when i turn on the head lights how do i get the side lights working again and stop the hid's coming on in side light mode ????

does any one know haw to change the bulbs in your front fog lights on the vr do i just take the whole light out

were is the drain hole on a vr gear box i can only see one 17mm allen bolt witch is facing towords the front of the car about half way up didnt notive another one on the bottom is the drain one the same as the fil hole?

no didnt use a flexi pipe just opened the nut and let it flow out is that wrong dont think the brake resevoir was ever low its just before the max line any ideas what i done wrong?

ive been having trouble with my clutch lately and decided to bleed it what i done was got someone to hold the clutch peddle down then i opened the bleed nipple got a splurge of air and fluid just a small bit then close the nipple done this a few times and now the clutch is worse i cant even engage a gear now .what did i do wrong????????

im going to do an oil change on the vr is the drain hole vw sign with 2 small bolts in it on the bottom also was going to use 80/90 castrol for this is this ok thaks guys!

the clutch on my 94 vrhas been close to the floor when i go to drive it weekends mostly but if i pump it for a bit it returns to normal.But lately its staying close to the floor and on the way home today i had to pull it back up with my foot. then it feels normal and then it doesnt seems to be on and off but has got worse over the last few months .The clutch doesnt slip and bites well and releases perfect so i dont want to replace the clutch and then still have the same problem has anybody had this problem before ? would this just be the slave cylinder tere is no signs of any leaks anyone any

right ive been looking up previous treads on vr6 remaps im even more confused now i have an obd1 vr6 with a bmc cda,decat,6 branch manny,ans a 2 box stainless exhaust thing is would it be worth my while getting it remapped or is it a waste of time what do yous think?

i fitted a 6 branch manifold and did not heat wrap it now ive heard this can melt parts in the engine bay is this through? can i sheild the heat some how with it all ready fitted? taking it back off is not an option now has anyone fitted one of these without wrapping them
