  1. Ok dude, i will read his thread now. Thanks a lot. You probably get these threads a lot!
  2. Cheers, i couldnt work out which way around it goes as i couldnt remember the pattern for the studs. Any ideas of places that make a LHD one?
  3. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/vw-golf-vr6-corrado-cast-t3-turbo-exhaust-manifold_W0QQitemZ140355227361QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item20add2cee1 For the price i presume its pretty pants? And looks rhd although im not sure. If not, where can i get a LHD one from? Search brought up some old threads of a guy on here making them in 2006, but thats a while ago now! What are my options?
  4. I've heard you loose about 30bhp... Depends on the gasket.
  5. Cheers boys. Will call em thursday when i get paid and make some orders. Stick to 8psi.....haha like that will happen
  6. I want to purchase a spacer gasket from C2 to fit to my VR engine, with the route of turbo'ing the engine along with buying some other bits from them, arp bolts etc. But which one is the best to go for? 9:1 or 8.5:1? I plan to run low ish boost 6-8psi so which gasket would i be best of buying? Cheers Mike
  7. Im converting a mk3 8v to a VR6-T. And after weighing up the pros and cons, the kit surely isnt worth it for the money.
  8. After looking at the feedback of the seller, as its a buy it now or best offer, someone offered £550 for the kit recently and it was accepted. If they can accept £550 and still make a profit, then the kit really must be poor i would presume?
  9. Been reading up on this and your old thread. Have heard of this build thread, as its legend, and also have seen you car around colchester loads but only just put the 2 together.
  10. You need the gear linkage, as the VR is cable select, and your 8v will be rod select.
  11. I would upgrade it all, so that you are not loosing what you are gaining with the uprated manifold. Maybe a 2.5inch cat back? But would still make sure it has boxes in it, otherwise you will get your gurgle, but also a big drone on the motorways.
  12. Haha. Dont you know it. Im converting a mk3 8v to a VR6, and its getting annoying as the further i progress, the more things i find wrong!
  13. Ah ha! Cheers, thanks a lot. I suspected that must go somewhere, at present it just hangs from the induction pipe between the throttle body and air meter. But alas it looks like my rocker cover is buggered and i need a new one Cheers for the help. If you ever lift your engine with straps on the hooks, be careful not to snap yours. lol
  14. Ahh, yours is an OBD2 by the looks of the throttle body. Mine is an obd1 coilpack, change over jobbie, but it helps. On the center and the right of your pic there is a pipe with nothing fixed to it that comes from the engine cover. This is broken off mine, What goes onto there?
  15. I have picked up a VR6 engine for a conversion, and whilst taking it apart i noticed that there is a hole in the rocker cover at the throttle body end, that looks like something has snapped from it and left a hole. What should be fixed here? Would it be the pipe with a filter type object that comes of the induction pipe between the TB and the Airflow meter? Cheers
  16. How does the hottuning 6branch manifold compare to others on the market eg the dubpower one. There is a huge difference in price of almost £200. I was wondering if there was any less performance achievable from using the chepaer hottuing one, on a VR that would be planning to run a blower?
  17. Good bunch of lads, im thinking off sticking mine up for sale or swap rather than converting.... hahaha. Need to be elite with 6 cylinders
  18. Mine is LC4T... But its not a VR. Saw you tonight at the EastCoastDubs Meet
  19. Im putting a VR6 engine into a mk3 8v, which is OBD2. It already has the 288mm brakes etc, so its just an engine, box, pedal box, clocks and loom jobbie. My question is if i buy a obd1 engine to fit, will this give me problems, as the car currently is obd2 with the 8v engine, and the other systems, like the abs are obd2, although im aware they have their own ecu. Just wondering if i used an obd1 engine and ecu, it would cause me issues or not? Ive been offered a sub100k engine, with a rebuilt gearbox, and all ancillaries for a good price, so providing i can use it, i will! Cheers Mike
  20. Think the next one of these is supposed to be in southend this weekend?
  21. I think they look pretty good, Be intersting polished maybe? But a lot of work. For the right price anything is a good buy
  22. You could back this up with cars for sale on forums such as this, and other ENTHUSIAST forums. Not just the cheapest VR on autotrader. Also try and get the mods insured, as it makes it worth more in an enthusiasts world. HIC do it, and are very very understanding. But ive heard a lot of stories of people not gettin the agreed value back
  23. Stick the battery in the boot, and slap an intercooler on, then you have all that space over the right to stick an air filter. lol. Dont know if you can do that, but would free up space. Do you want a cone still, or an inclosed jobbie?
