  1. just been on howmanyleft.com to see how many vr6 autos(yes i drive an auto) left on the road, only 155 non highline licensed at this time and i wondered how that compered with something a bit exotic so put in ferrari 458 italia and there is 252 presently licensed and 1 sorned. so next time some one says it just a mk3 golf i will be informing them of just how rare it is

  5. sorry for slow reply. i got them off ebay. the unit has a threaded tube on the back which doubles up as the bulb holder(its all one piece) that has a large flanged plastic nut, i cut out just enough vains from the vents to fit the tube part through, you can do it all off the car then refit the vent/indicators as one item. took 10 minutes to mod the vents. my description isnt to good but when you see the indicators its so clear how you have to do it. i fitted 23w bulbs, they come with something silly like 8w
  6. the bastuck ones were availible from regal autosport but i think they could only be used with the bostock exhaust but iam not 100% sure on that. i couldnt find any after a very quick look on the website, maybe get one made up.
  7. i have a vento front with smoothed bumpers and i fitted motorbike fairing indicators/markers in the lower vents, looks nice, very neat dead easy and cost about £9 to do.

  14. i didnt get on with 17s at all, they came with the vr and didnt stay for long and i think the size of the 16s suit it from a visual point of view but iam more interested in the way it drives now and want to get it right fist time cant afford to buy them and find out the hard way they arnt right
  15. iam running D90s with 45 profile tyres at the moment but iam going to get rid of and run some wheels that fit without adapters. iam going to go back to a motorsport style of wheel. this is were i want opinions on wheel size. iam thinking of running 15s due to the fact i can then use 50 profile tyres, the roads in my area are so f***£d i was thinking the 50 profile would help cut down on the amount of zig zagging around pot holes i have to do. my vr is my daily and i have never had 15s only 16s or 17s what do people think. hope its in the right section dont think of it as a technical issue Ty
  16. thanks for your reply. i have ended up replacing the pump which made things a bit better, it enabled me to unlock all the doors with the key which it didnt before so i went through the system and found a badly done repair on the hose(by a previous owner) in the rubber between the drivers door and i moved the odd bit of hose here and there into better positions every thing works fine know Ty
  17. went to open my car this morning and drivers door didnt unlock all the others (5 door) and the boot opened perfectly, tried to unlock by pulling the door pin and interior handle but didnt work, have now got the knack of opening with key and getting door open before the windows lower so can get in. key locks it fine. when i lock and unlock with my bipper with drivers door shut the pump makes very little noise but if i have the door open then press my bipper it will operate the door lock, door pin moves up and down but the pump runs for about 20 seconds and my door hisses. i suspect the pump but

I have done mine today and used wheel bearing grease as read that is meant to be able to take serious amounts of heat. I did find putting the little things back on over the bearings to be rather tricky as they both did not want to go on.....A good squeeze and they are on.....I think, time will tell!!!! got it done this morning, got rid of the noise, dead easy job and nothing has fallen off

  20. iam going to grease my belt tensioner and need to buy an M8 bolt, just want to know what length i should buy. also the guide on here lists a T-30 torx as part of tools needed for the job but i have read the guide a couple of times and cant find any other mention of it, whats it needed for? vr is 95 obd1 with coilpack thanks
  21. iam having an issure with surging between 1500 and 2500 RPM. when i drive at constant revs at any point within this RPM range the car surges it does'nt feel like its going to break down or stop and before and after this range no problems runs well, if i accelerate through the range(does'nt have to be hard) again no problems. i have changed plugs, leads and coilpack. it has been doing this for about two months has got no worse. every once in a while when i start the car it stops almost instantly but will always start right away and does not stop again, this is rare and does'nt matter if its sta
  22. i have fitted a non standard steering wheel without airbag so what what ohms resistor do i need to fit to turn out my airbag light Ty
  23. thanks for your reply, i did remove the piece with the copper ring and offered it up, but it looked like i would have to chop it up a bit to make it fit, thought i would see if any one else had any better ideas first, i will get started with the chopping i mean carefully modifying Ty
  24. i have fitted my momo wheel today, all went smoothly and i didnt blow myself up with the airbag, but i dont know how to wire up the horn. the momo horn push has one connector on the back and the momo boss has a hole which i presume is for a wire to pass through, as people know the standard wheel uses a brass ring and brass tab set up, i cant see how iam going to sort it other than having long piece of wire coiled inside the boss*-) thanks, TY
