  1. i've replaced the whole cooling system, samco hoses, thermostat housing, stainless steel crack pipe all with new o rings. uprated water pump and electric water pump, the only thing i've not done is the rad i'm 100% sure theres no leaks. its dumping it out the over flow i'm sure of it, because theres too much pressure. i just need help findin out where all this pressure is coming from. The seal on the header tank cap is 100% too. Only thing i can think of is either a stuck thermostat or exhaust gases in the cooling system , i might just swap the thermostat so i can rule it out lol.
  2. The VR seems to be losing coolant at the rate of a litre or so a week, There are no leaks what so ever, but I'm noticing alot of pressure in the system, so I think its dumping it out the over flow. One thing i've also noticed is sometimes the top rad hose is rock hard and boiling hot and the bottom one soft and cold. Now this lead me to believe it was the thermostat but then sometimes both hoses are rock hard and boiling hot :/. Another thing was that when I rev the engine with the cap off the header tank, I'm gettin alot off bubbles surfacing which makes me think maybe exhaust gases = head
  3. You're vento front end, where have you got the front indicators located as you're bumnpers are smooth? I'd like to do a vento front end on mine, my bumpers are smooth too but I don't know where to put the indicators, as there not incorporated into the vento head lights are they?
  4. Ha Ha you guys hit the nail on the head! Thats about all these sort of mods are good for smashing and burning lol. Banning them is a good idea, damn cowboy modders lol.
  5. Cheers mate, I know what you mean, I hate fault finding buying new parts and it still not working right lol, thats why I've replaced my whole cooling system apart from the rad, plus I liked the look of blue samcos, so it was a good excuse to splash out on them when I done both the water pumps, thermostat etc.
  6. Looks good, I've got one of them 2.8 engine covers, I've just sprayed it with primer and once its dry I'm gonna do VW satin silver and lacquer it, what colour silver is yours? Looks good with the polished manifold. I'm on the look out for one. Just waiting for one to pop up now thats my next mod.
  7. Right I think I've found the problem, I just went to unplug my MAF and found a little black box taped to the MAF sensor connector, looks like a right bodge of a job by the previous owner (SEE PIC)... The little black box had two wires coming out of it and soldered to 2 of the MAF wires, the Blue and Brown wires, one of them was a Sh!t connection though. So I've cut this lil box free and re connected the wires the way the manufacture intended. Wow what a difference!!! Throttle responce it bang on and the idle is sitting at 850RPM's which is about right if I remember correctly. From what I
  8. Well all the spark plugs n ht leads are brand new and gapped properly so its not that, i've not long ago replaced the whole cooling srystem except for the radiator, so i'm pretty sure its not the thermostat or the plugs for it, thats why i think its one of the three things i've listed as they are all original parts and the milage is over 100K, just don't wanna replace them all and still run funny lol. Hmmm.... i'll try unplugging the maf n see how that works out, if i do that though will it thow up any lights on the dash n need to be reset on vagcom?
  9. Yeah might try unpluggin it, just gotta find someone with vagcom now lol
  10. Hi I'm just looking for a bit of advice, my throttle response is sometimes very poor as is the idle at times, plus its back firing alot. Now this was only happening every now and then but seems to be getting worse and worse, yet at times everything seem so be running perfectly and not having any of these issues, its really weird lol. So the only things I can think of this being the cause is needing a new throttle body, new MAF sensor or lambda sensors, also the air filter on the induction is very dirty but I'll be replacing that soon though anyway. Which of these would you advise to Change fir
  11. Hmmm still no luck with that item number....
  12. Does anyone know where to get hold of the shallow head 17mm wheel bolts used for bolting adaptors to the hub? Can't find these anywhere at all!!! Help would be very much appreciated thanks...

Thanks I've mainly tarted up the bay and replaced all the usal things that go wrong after 100K, New Serp belt tensioner, Thermostat and housing, draft 42 stainless steel crack pipe (that was fun to fit lol) Also uprated water pump with metal impeller (also fun to fit) Samco hoses, sprayed up some bits in the bay, fitted decat, and a carbon fibre induction kit. Also got some MAM MT1's wheels to go on it too. Then maybe charge it this year, but im undecided atm any thoughts suggestions?...
