    Very true mate i should of dropped a gear really would of had problems then. anyway i though vr6 and vts was about 150bhp per tone

    I find it more annoying when they ask if its a real vr6 or just a gti with the vr6 badges.

    Yea when i got to 80 i started pulling away but then had to slow down. I no the vts has very similar if not better power to weight ration so that does explain it and i was also in 3rd at 40mph so could of dropped a gear for better acceleration. mite get a compression test done sometime at local garage to make sure tho.

    just had vales removed etc then had head skimmed to make sure it wasnt warped then had new valves and valve stem seals fitted. Dont remeber anything about having them re cut and lapped. Done around 10,000 miles since all this work was done. hope it nothing serious otherwise car will be going. Im pretty sure its the exhaust as i read up that if you dont have enough backpressure in the exhaust you will lose a lot of torque so going to get a jetex system fitted.

    Whats a leakdown test is that just a compression test. Im pretty sure its the exhaust to be honest. Had headgasket done last year along with new valves and valve stem seals. Id be surprised if something like piston rings had gone as its only on 93,000 miles.

    Ive had car on vagcom and no faults been serviced regulary etc. But i am pretty sure that ever since i had my exhuast fitted i have lost torque. Its a straight through sytem with free flowing back box i had it custom made but its not very good. So will order a new jettex exhaust next month hopefully that will do the trick

    All mite be ok now will update tomoz. Im off to pauls tomorow nite after work to get my coilovers on. So should all be good getting tyres fitted saturday

    I may not be able to come now my mate let me down again and cant get coilovers done tonight either im due to get tyres put on this saturday but need coilovers on first. Anychance any1 is around thursday evening i no its a long shot but worth a try.

    Well i have till next january to restore the love otherwise i will be buying a new car as thats when insurnace renewel is. so a few months to decide yet.

    Well im hoping once my coilovers are on (wednesday evening hopefully) and new tyres fitted and tracked (this saturday) i may find some more enthusiasum to keep it going. Got team south meet in couple of weeks aswell so it may spur me on lol

    What internals are you using and what gearbox you running. Can imagine that its a handfull to drive lol

    Yea alternate between the 2 areas. Maybe bbq on the beach one evening to lol

    water pump also if drivers side. Any noises coming from that side at bottom of belt.

    thermostat housing im guessing sorry just realised you said driver side so edited.
