Update of pics..

Hey antihero1981... Plugs only changed recently and with the recommended ngk's for charged vr's. This still didn't do it. Plugs, MAF, ISV, Lambda, fuel pump & filter, coolant temp sensor, crank sensor, checked for arcing on coil pack, but none. Running out of ideas now... Think there maybe a throttle position switch too... Throttle body also removed and cleaned and a fairly new air filter. Goes like stink when warm but slight hesitations when cruising.
-
Hi guys, cheers for the ideas, will double check my breather although I'm sure it's 19mm or larger. Never had a battery issue with her though and it has a 4 bar fuel reg, I could do with checking fuel pressure to make sure it's not faulty. I just got back from the Nurburgring and she performed really well with no leaning off issues but still very slight hesitation when cruising on light throttle. It's a lot better than it was but still there slightly!

I haven't had a good look at that actually, it breathes into a seperate filter due to being 'charged...

I thought I would add the latest reading from my plug in fault code reader... I'm getting similar faults to items already replaced which I find pretty odd. Faults showing are: MAF (This is brand new) Low voltage Oxy sensor (Also New) Idle/ air control Mixture control Also fitted a newer fuel pump as the old one had seen better days and a new temp sensor to cover a couple more bases. I've also checked around all breathers and manifolds for an air leak but couldn't find any. Only thing else I can't think of is poss coil pack, but not sure why this would cause leaning off at 4.5/ 5k rpm. Any i

Now running the black S3 rims, cleaned up and back on the road... A few pics of my mates 4Motion too, taken at Stonor Park this year. The 4Mo

Right, update on this as could do with some help/ ideas still. Still got slight hesitation but it's better now with a new MAF. Found out it was running lean, but it only leans off every now and again over 4k revs. It's had a new MAF, Lamda, ISV, Plugs, Fuel pump relay and drive belt as found to be slipping on the charger. Anyone got any further ideas of what could be causing this?
-
Cool, well if anyone else heading up from South area then perhaps we can get a bit of a convoy going.
-
Hey all, is anyone attending Stonor this year? Always a nice, chilled show and I'm def heading there again this time around!
-
This sounds pretty good... I'd prob suggest a weekend lunchtime... Sat afternoon?? 7 Stars in Stroud nr Petersfield is pretty good too...
-
Cheers Nerve_Net, I'll take a look at that this evening when replacing the plugs and see if that helps too. It is better after doing the lambda as not cutting out now, but it's just not quite right.
-
Update on this issue... Coilpack checked and leads, all OK. MAF correct way round and new Lambda probe as this seemed to be causing my 'lean' issue. Not cutting out now, but revs drop intermittently when slowing down and still hesitates/ hunts when resting on the throttle. My only next step/ idea I have is a set of plugs. Anyone got any further ideas? The only other intermittent vag com fault which isn't always there, was mixture and idle control.

Possibly going to see and buy this supercharged beast ! Your views please

Ah man harsh! Sorry to hear that fella. Cat C is damage repairable but parts etc more than vehicle value, must have been a fair bit of damage as anything above a C is fully written off. -

Looks good mate and sounds like it's been well looked after. Do you know how long the 'charger has been on it for? -
Rear wheels balanced too?? As normally 50/60 speed is front but if you go above 80 and there's still a wobble, it can be rears...
-
Yeah I removed the remains of an old alarm too! Lol. I was told you could do it without taking the whole dash out, but there was no chance it was coming out with dash there. Think I put a couple of pics up of it stripped down. Dash bolts are inside and also under bonnet on bulkhead.
-
When I had to do it I had to strip down the dash, passenger airbag and remove the whole thing, no way was it coming out around the front stress bar, so loosened off the big star drives and worked it free. Didn't need to remove a seat, not sure if I even took out the centre console... it was a bloody cold day i remember though. Oh, scuttle panel and wipers had to come off too.
-
Harsh! Not a very nice job... Good luck if you're going ahead with it, if you need any help feel free to ask. Had to do mine when it was freezing as the ice building on the inside of the screen was difficult to scrape off... Lol.
-
Hope you get it sorted then bud! If it's right near to the clip there might be enough to trim it down for temporary fix
-
I had something very similar a little while ago and it was the coolant hose at the back of the block to the heater i believe, sprayed all over the manifold and engine covers, fine when started but blip the throttle at the 'body and it spat out under pressure
-
Ha ha!! Good lad!! Nice lookin Vento btw!
-
Mmm... porsche twists look aweosme! I wouldn't go bigger than 17's, the 16's work, but I have found the 17's slightly more practical when it was used daily
-
Yeah I know what ya mean, they a bit rubbish as the offset is about 42 i believe! The S3 rims are 35ish and fill the arch much better
-
Well i was looking at possibly changing to the 20mm, 10 a side, can't remember the width of mine, I think they are the 7's but will check.
