  5. Purchased a new 6 branch mani from strictly dubs which im having installed at the the end of next week, but one of the bolts/studs has sheared off (was like this when i purchased car) so i wanna replace the lot...question is are they bolts or studs.? and can you get them from the stealers or anywhere else..? Also can anyone confirm wether the ecu temp senser is a 2 or 4 pin jobbie as the stealers have given me the 4 pin one.
  6. Thing is my car doesn't run lumpy...strange, i'll go ahead and change it anyways.
  7. Yeh but its unpainted isn't it..? i wanted your painted standard one, mystic blue, am i right..?
  8. Picked up the senor today and its a 4 pin one, is this the correct sensor, the one that lets the ecu know what temp the coolant is at..?
  9. They don't, its VOSA that do roadside checks, and to be honest they are very rare....ive never seen it.
  10. Dubpower, costs £75, i was thinking of getting one so that when i get my new mani it doesn't shear like my present one has.
  11. Thinking of buying a new manifold coz my present 1 has a big hole in it but all the ones on ebay seem to have the 2 bolt flange rather than the 3 bolt 1 needed for the cat to attach. Anyone know where i can get a manifold from that has this adapter or where i can get the adapter from..?
  12. Not sure what to do.......at the weekend i was having some fun in my vr and afterwards noticed that the car sounded alot louder (was loud already due to 6 branch, decat, and no slinsers) and also seemed to be drinking alot more fuel. After some poking around this afternoon ive found a that 1 of the weilded joints has split leading to a rather large hole so what should i do...? Should i go standard, which would mean i need a mani, downpipe and cat or get another 6 branch, heat rap it and sort everything else exhaust wise aswell. Thing is (or actually a couple of things) ive also found that 1
  13. Well ordered the senser from vw, £29. Althpough since removing the fualt code yesterday it hasn't come back so i will wait till wednesday wehn its ready to pick up and if there is still no code registered then the vw parts guy said he'd refund me.
  14. Yeh obd2, and i think i no the senser your on about, its next to a yellow and brown one isnt it..? Easy to change...?
  15. After a 350 mile round trip i scanned my car for any fualt codes and it came back with 00522 engine coolant temp senser g46, is this the temp senser for the ecu or dash...? guessing its ecu one as dash temp seems fine. So which senser where and how to change..?
  16. Not keen to be honest, doesn't really suit the line of the car.
  17. Ireally have to say..........its horrible, yuk.
  18. Ive stuck my outside air temp senser up inside the bay next to my induction kit so i could moniter the temp of the air being drawn in. Gets to anything between 30-50 degrees. Not been on the motorway yet to test out if it gets hotter or cooler, but will soon.
  19. On my old mk3 16v i had my abs pump replaced by Midland vw for £150 and that was a second hand unit. 2years down the line and still no problems as i still see my old car as my bro inlaw owns it.
  20. Well i did my oil change on saturday, used a new sump plug and washer, old one was wrecked due to too many speed humps and was leaking, but its still leaking if anything abit worse now. Thing is that when tightening the plug i didn't have a torque wrench although i did have a big wrench which i used to tighten things up. Anyone think the continuing leak is related to the sump plug not being tight enough still or as i think that the sump is damaged cause its been badly scraped especially at the sump plug end and maybe the seal between the sump and the washer is not right due to the scrappage. B
  21. Ok well didi my oil change today but spilt some oil on my inlaws pavved driveway that they have just spent £5000 having done and as you can imagine they are not best pleased. Is there anyway to remove the stain..? I have already tried jet washing it and scrubbing it with fairy and bleach to no avail, can anyone save me..?
  22. Does the oil filter housing have to be torqued to 22lbs or can i just do it as tight as i can as i don't have a torque wrench to hand?
  23. Cheers lads, much appreciated.
