    thanks i will check that ,it does sound like a slight ticking,can i regrease them or do i have to buy a new one? i did my timing guides and tensiners but didnt replace the chains as vw say they dont need it,i first thought it may be them.

    hi all on my vr6 i have a rattle from the left hand side of the engine down where the pulleys are locatted its on tickover and also when you rev,anyone know the cause or had the same problem? coul;d it be the tensioner .any help would be great

    hi i have an obd1 vr6 ,it wont pass emmissions has hi hydrocardons,the engine has had new valves leads and plugs cap,rotor arm,its number 5 cylinder that is the problem the plug is getting a spark but when i remove the ht lead from the distributor the engine note stays the same? and changes on all the other 5 leads,but the cylinder isnt burning,the fuel,could this be blocked /worn injector ? ive changed evrything else ,anyone got any ideas ?

    just rebuilt the vr with new guides and chains,while it was apart polished the mainfold first time ive done it ,what you recon?

    ive done a conversion from 16 v to vr6 the air flow meter i brought had vw part number021 906 461,i was told this is for the coil pack not dizzy ,can anyone put me straight? cheers guys and girls of course

    i had brought an ecu whicvh turned out to be fried ,but inside on a piggy back platform was a VSR CHIP WITH THE NUMBER 1267357205 on it anyone know about these chips would it be worth installing in my current ecu

    i think your right on that one pete i used the 16v when i done my conversion to vr6 and have good pressure

    i done an engine conversion from 2.0 ltr 16v to vr6 and used the original 16v fuel pump with no problems so id get one from 16v mine is a 94 car

    i have to change the rear pads,on my vr any one know if the calipers are push im or do you have to wind back in the caliper? if so what can i use to do this?

    mine does it only when the air flow sensor is connected ,hot or cold engine ,when it unplugged he problem dissapears,so proberly different to your problem

    i unplugged the connection to the mass air flow sensor, and it went fine with no pulling and hesatation.so if anyone has an air mass metor obd1 give me a shout

    there is an arrow on the mass air flow metor, ,im confused on whether it should point toward the front or the bak of the car ,could someone help answer this question

    hi i have a dizzy vr6 ,one minuite it pulls through the rev range clear and strong ,then some times it will start jurking and juddering and holding back,it soltimes then clears its self .any ideas anyone?

    hi im from oxford ,getting my vr conversion nearly complete so caddyslammed if you want to get together with me perhaps we could set up an oxford v6 monthly meet ,let me know what you think.

    hi any experts in the oxfordshire could come and look at my set up to see why ive no spark to run my vr ,killokilla is the main man it seems,but cant get to him till the new year heeeelllllp !!!!

    i have no spark from my vr6 which i converted from a 16v as a proceess of thought ,i am useing the ignition coil from my original 16v engine as ive been told they are the all the same.can any one tell me if thats true or do i need the proper vr6 ignition coil,was thinking this may be my problem with the spark but dont wanna spalsh out if no need, anyone got the expertise on this? help much appreciated. everett (one desperate new vr6 owner)

    i just had a thought it may be relavent? im running the ignition coil from the 16v engine ,do i need the vr6 ignition coil.ive been told they are the same so didnt change it for a vr one.anyone put some truth to this?

    yes i brought one saturday from vw but still no joy,ive been advised on changing the ignition module on the back off the ignition lock and another dizzy? as it only sparks when turning the key back to pre ignition
