  1. word up all, just after some feedback, i have some 17" wheels on the car at the mo which are ok but i also have the bbs wheels which came with the car. I was maybe thinking of refurbing them in anthracite. What do you guys think would look better, keep the 17"s or go back to 15"'s? cheers, rob

  3. locked out the vr, de-locked and the boot lock doesnt match the car, can you get to the bonnet catch when the car is sat?? grrrrrrrrrrr
  4. thankyou, yeah the 8 ball is just a bit of fun, my old one was really worn and picked this up for 8 quid.
  5. a few pics of the old gal at spring fest, have now painted the bumper vents and also picked up a cheap wheel. think i will have to get a momo or sparco as this one feels too crappy!

  9. was working on mine the other day and as mine is low i have to use the vw jack then a trolly jack but it decided to fall off the vw jack and put a nice big hole in one of my sills! have wax oiled the hole but i need to get it welded up! not a happy bunny, also bent the skirt a bit

  11. i did reset it by taking the bat off for an hour as at first it was at idle at 1700rpm but its ok for that now, tried using vag com to do it but it wouldnt work for some reason
  12. hi all, after cleaning my throttle body, pipes and maf the car seems to be hesitating under load, now its only for a split second and only now and again, any ideas what it could be? didnt do this before taking off the t/b
  13. when i got mine it had about 125k on her, ran sweet as a nut, have done 5k in her and i drive quite hard, once car is up to temp i hit 5k on most gear changes (just love the sound it makes over 4k) seem to be fine still, has a slight stutter in the engine but this seems to have happend since i took the throttle body off and cleaned and ported it. they seem to be very good engines, mine uses no oil or water either
  14. hi all, just got one fault code left, its on the charcoal filter, anyone know where this is located and what it does? many thanks, rob
  15. cheers for that, but read through a few threads and found something about resetting the throttel body. i took the neg lead off the battery and reconnected it and then tunrned the key to the first postion then started her, seem to be fine now, cant say that its got anymore power but seems to be getting better mpg round town which will do me. yeah will change sig when i get time
  16. hi all, well today i took off my throttle body all pipe and maf to clean them out (didnt reall clean the maf as it looked ok. i also used my dremel to smooth out the throttle body a bit, put it all back on but now the car idles at about 1700 rpm it will drop in the end to about 1100 but as soon as you bilp the throttle it goes back to about 1900 then kind of hunts about, any ideas?? why do i mess with cars!! grrr

  18. right bit of an up-date, had a new front wing fitted also changed the front splitter as it had got messed up a bit and also didnt really fit. also fitted a new 8 ball gear nob and a metal trim round the clocks.   19. yeah i thought it might wreck the inner bit of the tyres but seems ok, done 5k like this and the tyres seem normal!
  20. well i also put the camber to max neg so the wheels tuck in more
  21. hi at first it did so i took it up by about 5 mm and seems fine at the front now, it does rub at the back on big bumps but only on the passenger side. i have taken out the plastic at the front, arches are standard but i would like to get them rolled at the back so i can drop it a tad more
  22. right bit of an update - have fitted new fogs/indicators, fitted new number plates, sprayed my new delocked handles, fitted a vibe sub and also fitted some green led's to the clocks +sprayed the needles orange getting a new drivers wing soon, still need to sort a chili red tailgate!! anyone?? oh and fitted some new bumper vents, not sure if i should colour code them or not??
