  2. im in the process of building a mk2 vr6 track car and its been suggested to me that i should fit an uprated oil cooler. now my question is whats the advantages of fitting 1? and whats the best 1,s to go for? also is it advisable to fit 1 to my vr6 road car? cheers in advance
  3. im in the process of building of the mk2 vr6. now im taking anything that isnt needed out of the car but the vr lump is being left standard till iv had at least a season out of it. then forced induction
  4. iv got uniroyal rainsports on my 17s. quality in the wet. ideal winter tyre. got toyo's on my summer wheels.
  5. i say run the 5dr vr fully stripped out round knockhil as its a difficult track to drive a first. you get used to it after a few times. then look at engine mods. drove a cupla big power imprezas round it a few times. scary experience going into that blind corner at silly speeds. also the first and second corners are tricky, spun a cupla times there.
  6. buy a mk2 and vr it. so much more cost effective. lookin at bout 3-4k for a diy 20vt conversion. plus the noise is no were near as good.
  7. hopefully by the summer i will have sorted the paint, rolled the arches, fitted collies and wheels and finished my mk2 vr track car.

  9. im planning on running at knockhill aswell. i will eventually get a trailer but till then i will be driving to and from the track and i will be gettin sum perspex windows to. imo the 5d will be more than enough if all your looking to do is go out and have fun on the track. most people that go up to knock hill are running there daily drives.
  10. tbh i dont think it will matter that its a 5dr. now as for keeping it street legal best bet is to find a freindly mot centre and ask questions. thats what iv done when building my mk2 vr6 track car. its completely stripped out, no dash, no carpets, etc what tracks you lookin at going to??
  11. does anyone happen to know the part number for the n/s skirt for a 96 vr6. mine is damaged and aint held on that well so lookin to rplace it. also how difficult are they to replace?? cheers in advance

  13. can anyone if i will have any issues with fitting 16x8 allos with an et33? my vr is lowered about 35mm. also i will be having custom adaptors made for them to fit. how wide can i get them made before i will start to encounter problems? cheers in advance

  16. think i may have a small problem with my heaters in my 97 vr. when im driving along the heaters are fine but when i dip the clutch its as if the lose power slightly. is this normal or do i have a problem and if i do what is it? cheer in advance
  17. ok i will go out later and try squeezing it in .the pioneer iv got is a deh-p6800mp, are these any good? i got it for free off my uncle. after xmas i will be upgrading the speakers and fitting an amp and possibly a sub. will the head unit i have be ok for this?
  18. iv got a pioneer 1 just now that i took out my audi though it doesnt fit in because of the cables. doesnt seem to be enough room for them.

  21. at the moment i dont. just lock the doors. luckily the car is in the drive and theres no 1 brave enough in my town to touchmy car.
  22. iv just noticed that when i lock the doors on my 97 vr the passangers side door doesnt lock iv got to go round to it then lock it again. now i dont have the bleeper so iv got to use the key to lock the doors. also its a 5 door if it makes a difference. any ideas why it doesnt lock like the rest?
  23. well had the car in the garage last week to get it checked out. seem like it wasnt the head gasket at all, it was the seal from the thermostat housing to the head. so that was replaced along with the housing, thermostat and all the other seals. got done on today and redone the coolant test and it was fine. also got a great pic of my vr sittin next to a m5 in the garage.
  24. well im in luck well over a ton cheaper than that. i work in a motor factors but we dont normally get chains or anything. had to buy them from some1 else just wanted to make sure they werent being funny. now to find soum 1 to do the job. all the local garages are scared of it i think
