  1. Ok, thread revival, charger is bolloxed, oil coming from intake and outlet it seems so a rebuild is required! Tony, you interested in doing another if I bought the kit from superchargerrebuilds.com? Going to get in contact with sparkz again aswell and see if he knows anyone that does rebuilds or if he can do it.
  2. Cheers mate but it's the big seal for the casing that I need. Do you have any more pics of when you split your charger?
  3. Send me on some more info on the other seal you used please mate.
  4. Cool thanks Tony, any idea if I can just replace the seal or will it require a rebuild once split? I was told I could just replace it but just wanted to double check first.
  5. Right, so got a chance to get the charger off tonight, checked the oil feeds and returns, it spins nice and smoothly and it sounds alright, no play in bearings that i could feel. Cleaned it up so I could check it again after going for a spin, took it for a little blast came back and it's dripped a tiny bit again but I'v found from where, it seems to be from where the two halves bolt together, so either it just needs to be tightened a little or whatever is used to seal that part is buggered, question is, is it an O ring or just a bit of silicone around the edge before being bolted together?
  6. Thanks mate, sent Sparkz a pm anyway with a few questions so will see what he says I guess. The fact that I can't get a good look until monday or tuesday due to working all weekend is more annoying!
  7. Yea found the kit from superchargerrebuilds.com Ok well I'll hope for the best untill I get a change to take the charger off and have a propper look.
  8. Not sure on the size to be honest, John (eatthis) that I bough it off should know. You maybe interested in doing another charger rebuild? If I need it that is.
  9. No extra tensioners, just a load of belt dressing alot of the time, just going by what the boost guage is telling me.
  10. Also, how difficult did you find doing the rebuild mate?
  11. Yea seems to get 11-12psi most of the time.
  12. Yea especially 12psi of full boost lol. Only just shelled out on parts for an engine rebuild and now this too, ahhhhh!
  13. Thanks for the reply Tony, going to try and have a look tomorrow. Would too much tension on the belt cause bearings/seals to give up the ghost? Don't think it was too tight but then again it could be possible.
  14. Hi All, Just wondering if anyone can help me out here. Was having a look around the engine bay today and noticed a bit of oil under the 'charger, stuck my hand in under there to see if I could feel where it was coming from but couldn't really pinpoint it, seems to be at the very bottom close to the oil return pipe. Haven't had a chance to take the charger off and have a propper look just yet but thought somone might have had a similar problem and can give me some pointers on what could be causing it. I'm guessing seals and/or bearings but not too sure. Anywere in the UK that can rebuild these
  15. Soon mate, very soon! Rebuild for me and then I'll be over Not heard anything yet, taxing it in the next day or two so need to see whats happening with my V5 as it still hasn't arrived!?!
  16. That sounds immense! Hopefully the water injection sorts it for you!
  17. Only one fault light there the other is traction control
  18. That looks immense mate! Can't wait to get a run in this!
  19. Sounds like Valve stem seals mate, pretty common on VR's
  20. Looking good, this is gonna be sweet! It's going to be fun getting to that charger lol
  21. She's great, had those few small issues but it's all good now. How much you after for the wheels? Was around your way last weekend, was supposed to go to the pod but didn't get round to it.lol You get my text earlier?
  22. Only spotted this now, looking good mate! Too bad about the wheels, I'd have then off you if they were 17's. Going to be an awesome car if you last one is anything to go by :-d
  23. Hi Folks, First off, car is a 97 highline with a vortech v9 'charger. Have a slightly confusing problem, under hard acceleration in 1st gear (only 1st any other gear is fine *-) ) the car will splutter and cut out for a split second, clocks and light's turn off and back on too. Seems to be an electrical problem going by the electrics turning off but after poking around the engine bay for a while today I didn't spot any loose or worn wires. It won't do it if you pull away normally but as soon as you attempt to give it a little stick it'll pop as if it's misfiring and you'll see the light's/cl
  24. LOL no haven't even used it yet. Going to sort the water pump on saturday and then the rest will progress slowly from there, thought i had another head unit but i can't find it for the life of me!
  25. Ah ok dunno where I got the cams bit from then lol Another addition to the "to do" list i suppose ha ha
