    had a mk1 golf to star with wish id kept that .... then on to a mk2, yes i has a mk2 then had a new corse .... then got my cabby 2.0 8v lasted about a year then popped a vr in it, which lasted another year then popped a charger on it, then got my current 3dr and the rest is as they say history ....

    sounds like u have a wish bone or strut prob there mate .... jack it up on the side and have a look around and give the wheel a shake see if there is anything loose or worn ...

    id go for the vr mate only BMWs that are worth ther sort are the M power but get a vr and pop a charger or turbo on it and ull have just as much fun for less ££££ .... also dont get the noise for the VR6 from a BMW .... jmo ...

    know that feeling ben aint got a gearbox in, passanger seat and harness, strut braces, charger back on .... lol

    the drain is the big allen key on the bottom of the diff and the fill is the same sized allen key on the front of the box ..... cant remember wot oil our gearboxes take thou ....

    yeah need to put it on vag com and bleed the abs pump mate aswell as doin the standard bleed ...

    the lever would be stiff or stuck mate mite be worth havin a garage take a look at it if ur not that up on cars especialy with brakes
