  1. They're are VAG-COM to USB leads on ebay I believe but never used one.
  2. I'll try and find the seller but it was a standard uk VAG-COM type sale. He delivered it ASAP as I asked as well so no probs there! Lead works fine too, going straight into a serial port. USB to serial adaptors won't work.
  3. PSI Tuning are in Stoke-On-Trent. Andy pretty much did half of what Awesome GTI claim as theirs!
  4. I do know what a car is, but it sort of ends there. You know the people who say "my PC doesn't work so I had a mate who knows about PC's look at it, now it doesn't work at all". Well I'm that mate! I thought (here we go!) that ECU resets were only needed when you changed something on the car (different component as opposed to a replacement). Doesn't the ECU learn new values, like as if you go from a faulty sensor to a new one? Either way I'll try it!
  5. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260180030475 Bought this one but think they're all the same.
  6. PSI Tuning installed it not me. Even on OBD1 engines you need to do that?
  7. Just VAG-COM'd the VR6 and it came up with the following; We checked the fault codes and then cleared them. Started the engine up and then ran VAG-COM again. This was all done within 10 mins so the engine never got up to temp. The faults listed here were identical to the faults listed before we started the engine, I've heard I need to run the engine for a while after clearing the codes but we didn't have time and these came up immediately. VAG-COM Version: Release 311.2-N Chassis Type: 50 - VW Corrado Scan: 01,02,03,08,15 Address 01 -------------------------------------------------------
  8. If it was that good, it would be standard by now.
  9. I've bought one but wating for it to arrive! If I don't figure out this idling problem I'll be doing a 1,000mile round trip this weekend in a Kangoo Van rather than the Rado! Arrrrrrgh!
  10. Recommend Magnacor HT Leads if you are replacing! Solved a few little issues when I replaced my cheap ones!
  11. Just spoke to VW. Apparently theres a temp sensor on the inlet manifold, could that cause idling issues? One other sensor they mentioned (for prices anyway) was a Throttle Valve Patentiometre???? £65. Whatever the hell that is!
  12. To cure my idle problem, too high when cold, too low (250rpm) when warm, I've decided to replace some sensors as I'd suspect it's a temperature sensor (apparently there's 4) causing it to misjudge the cold start cycle slightly? I've already replaced the coolant ecu (blue) blue temp sensor. Which other sensors on the car are <£20 as I'm just going to replace them anyway! I have a 93K VR6 Corrado, does anyone know the Bosch part no. for a lambda?
  13. It was a new sensor and it cured the cutting out problem. Just wondering if its a MAF/Lambda type thing?
  14. Ok, just replaced the temp sensor and that sorted that problem out! Woohoo! Unfortunately an old problem has re-appeared. On start up it revs at about 1,100rpm to 1,200 rpm, when it gets warm it then decides to idle at 250rpm! It doesn't cut out but its close! I had the Idle (something) valve replaced a few months back albeit with a used one. Am I being unlucky or could another sensor be out which would cause this? It also seems to overfuel when cold, whiteish smoke (although not loads) and a petroley smell. Any thoughts?
  15. Woohoo! Done it and it solved the problem! Cheers!
  16. I'll give that a shot tomorrow when its light! Thanks!
  17. The clip holds the plug into the sensor, the plugs out but the sensor remains,
  18. Yeah, the plug is out but the sensor itself is not budging. Just didn't want to get all forceful when it could be something obvious!
  19. Just (trying) to replace the blue temp sensor. I've got the plug off but I can't get the sensor out! Is there something elde I need to do or do I just need to get a pair of pliers to it? Cheers! Andy
  20. Speaking to a traffic cop a few weeks back and he said that at around 3am on the local bypass (if they're not on a job) they'll 'test' their speedos b on the mile marker by seeing how quick thay can get through it, sometimes have a race. Said he topped 122mph a few weeks back. But yes, the Police have to abide by the same laws we do unless on an emergency.
