Everyone has good things to say about the sets listed previously.
On that budget I would go for the Koni kit 220 bucks ish! You wont get the arb for that tho - you need another 200 for the arb set. Koni is a good brand and has a good reputation.

Yes to the red tops.. it will overfuel like mad until remapped but needs to bed in for a short time if on new bearings (500 miles)... Ensure you get it rolling roaded for the remap..and don't forget the zorst and CAT as it will eat them as well... There is an spark plug mod that is best and also suitable air filters and have spare Lambda etc.  Assumed you upgraded the brakes so you can stop.. and the oil cooler to keep that cool.

So remember 4000 hours is about 2.5 years and you can use a V1 engine...

Dont brake - think of it as wasted energy
turn off electrical items not needed
remove all excess weight
Higher RON fuel is a discussion point
service the car... fully
A sports exhaust can help along with air filters but get made to measure rather than off the shelf to ensure you dont get motorway boom.
you can get a remap and this can also help.  (I got better mpg once supercharged than before fitted on runs)
slower speeds
 
Finally stay off the beer for a few weeks so you have the extra cash and just drive it like you should!!  My preference overall..

I wouldn't do anything to the car..... Take the auto enjoy the trip and spend the money else where.... It's your honeymoon!!!
 
Failing that you need to look and spend the right money and get a car to the spec you want etc.. The car failing after either you've done work or the issue it would cause on the first trip of your marriage will haunt you forever if you get it wrong...
 
PS there is more to the change than you first think.  What warranty etc on the gearbox, how many miles before you are happy it is 100% etc etc????  
 
As Pete says it has been done... just for my money the trip is yours, the rest of it is for the Mrs. and will be held against you until your ermmmm D.i.v.o.r.c.e. if it goes wrong  LOL...

hi Pete I spotted that there was a time the R32OC is meeting at M25 services.. perhaps a seperate thread may allow people to gather there for then.... would be cool to have some 50+cars rock up all at once... and the staying the night before chaps (VR6/TT/R32oc) could record arrival on camera or video for your post visit report??
