Yep, that certainly could be something to do it with it too.My Vr6 is by no means slow, it's just that it "feels" slow. I remember the first day i drove it, slowing down at traffic lights, the engine was so quiet i genuinely thought I'd stalled! When you started the TDI up you knew it was an old derv! Complete with vibrating sterring wheel lol! Compare that to the V6, I went from one opposite to the other! The VR is quick but you've got to rev it quite hard at times to get the best out of it imo. What really is the best way to get the most out of it? At traffic lights for example? Overtaking

Yes, it is running well, no probs at all. I had a mk3 golf TDI before the VR6 so this is why I may think the VR doesn't feel that quick.

Its just that you've literally got to floor it at that type of speed to get anything out of it. I really love my VR6 but I have to say after nearly 3 months of ownership I do sometimes think it is a little disapointing. It just doesn't feel that quick and I had never owned anything quicker before i bought the VR6 so it's not like I'm used to big power! To get anything out of it up to 60mph i keep it into second (lovely sound I have to say!) I suppose what I was asking is how vw measure the 0-60 times? from standstill to 60? 0-60 downhill in second? I test drove an A3 2.0tdi the other day and

Cheers all, yeah I do really miss the look of the tdi, but the VR is a blank canvas! Although it'll take time to mod the VR as petrol and insurance are taking quite a big chunk out of the budget! You sure will see me at one of the meets pete, looking forward to seeing plenty of other mint VR's!

Cheers dude but wheels were 4 stud and interior was out of a 5 door so couldn't do much there. Quite like the cloth seats actually! Did keep the lip spoiler tho!

was in town today and it was on 23mpg constant. 75-80 on m'way yesterday and was 28-29mpg.

I did, sadly. They were kurbed quite badly on two of the wheels and nobody wanted them for £500....

Finally sold my Tdi, shed a tear or two as she was a good reliable motor and I had modded it exactly the way I wanted. She went for £1600 which with wheels and tyres was a good bargain for the buyer. Now got myself a gorgeous mystic blue VR6. 100k on the clock, FVWSH, R reg with private reg plate, all for £1800 which i considered to be quite a good buy. Only problems with it is one rusty arch (bubbling really), a horrid metal bit on the black bit of the rear bumper (check pic) and a poopty Ripspeed handbrake The arch will be sorted at some point, but the hanbrake is urgent!
