    Another quick question for you guys! When I finally get around to swapping over my exhaust manifold I'll replace the gaskets at the same time but should I be using any form of exhaust sealnt aswell or just the gaskets on their own?? Bit of a daft question but one that has been going through my head! Cheers

    Very quick question where is the ECU loacted on a VR?? Mine is a 96 OBD2 if there were any changes with location over the years. Cheers

    Car has been out of use for about 2 weeks and just back on the road know after having the inlet and exhaust manifold off due to leaks. Battery was disconnected during this time. Seems to be ok just a bit ticky but I think thats because its not been used for a while.

    Hi guys, Just got my VR hooked up to VAG.COM and its coming up with the below error under the engine tab:- 1 Fault Found 00668 - Supply Voltage Terminal 30 07-10 Signal too Low - Intermittent Any ideas as I have looked throuhg the forums and trawled the web and haven't really got any answers as to what causes this??     Tech'y question here.... I am looking at geting a decat for my VR6 but I have heard that you have to get the engine remapped for the car to run correctly due to the loss in back pressure? Is this correct and if so can any one recommend where to get this done semi-local to me, I'm in Stevenage, Herts. Cheers

    I havent had one of those grills but I have had a similar grill and other bits from this seller and all were a superb fit and turned up in good time.

    Changed to Quantum Silver today and flushed the engine at the same time and by god does it make a difference. The engine purrs now. Cheers guys.

    Sure this has been asked before but cant find anything on the forum search 8-) but what oil is best to use in a vr?? I know really its down to choice but just wandered what others use?

    Just had a replacement engine fitted a few months back which had had some head work done on and now since the Weekend gone it has been making a lovely ticking noise. Its fine on start up but as it gets warmer the noise gets worse. Sounds very much like a tappet sort of noise but fear there may be something coming from the bottom end as well. :-( Im going to change the oil later as a matter of course as I have used a different brand of oil recently to my norm but also can anyone recommend a good gargage around hertfordshire area that is good with vdubs as i have been to a few holes in my time.

    My vr6 is starting to come out with some strange sounds and with the mileage its done i am looking to get the engine rebuilt. So what better place to ask about recommendations for where to take to get the work done. Im currently living in Stevenage, Hertfordshire but dont mind travelling a couple of hours to take the care to some where thats good. So can any on recommend anyone? Also the work wont be happening until march-ish time. Cheers

    Thats answered my next question then thanks. I have noisey tappets so rather you reckon that 10w40 should make them less noisey and semi or full syth?? Cheers Ed

    I know I have asked this before but what oil do people use?? Im currently using 5w40 full synth is this the wrong stuff to be using?? If so what viscosity should it be and should it be semi synth?? Cheers Ed

    I have just got my '96 VR6 and want to do a service but i'm unsure what oil to use?? The car is totally standard but has done 120k. Any advice would be great. Cheers
