  1. Used to be on the show scene about 4 years ago. It won't have power steering, so expect it to be heavy and cornering could be a bit suspect. But in a straight line I'm sure it'll fly. Tidy though Check front brake disc size to see if it's been upgraded.
  2. I've got one lying around. Let me see if I can find it tonight.
  3. I was thinking of doing that Mark, or setup a temporarily connection inside the car and have it stuck to the inside of the rear quarter window. Or buy some of the Merc style mirrors to use just for MOT's.
  4. Hmmm, interesting. As my gearbox broke I need to get something good in there. Was hoping for a 2.9 corrado box.
  5. Basically it will be very smooth, a3 handles, no rub strips, smoothed tailgate (but keeping number plte were it is), smoothed bumpers (losing front indicators/fogs), debadged grille, TT comp wheels maybe. Car is totally stripped out at the moment ready for welding next weekend. Also considering M3 CSL grey now. Saw that Corrado, thats the car that made me think of seal grey.
  6. Yeah, would make a nice little setup. There is also an S3 gearbox on there.
  7. Will a 02M (Golf TDI PD) 6 speed gearbox mate with my VR6 OBD1 engine? What other transmission parts do you think i'll require?
  8. Got a dent on one side of my project car on the panel that sits under the rear light. Can this panel be seam welded to the rear wing, or is this gonna cause problems later on? I heard a rumour that it would eventually split.
  9. Are they an MOT requirement? Is it worth getting rid of them for the hassle the police can cause?
  10. If you could have your car in any colour, what would it be? Basically I'm going to get my car sprayed in the next few weeks and need ideas for colours. Was going to go with Porsche Seal Grey, but not sure on it now. Any suggestions for a mk3 would be great.
  11. Looking very nice indeed. Pretty much what I've got planned. What colour grey is that in the engine bay?
  12. Been speaking to Tim @ The Phirm over the last few days about flared arches and I'm very impressed by his knowledge and the amount of time he spends with his customers. Superb customer service. I can't vouch for their work yet, but its sounds like they don't cut corners like most companies and do a top notch job. Comes highly recommended by me.
  13. Paypal should be able to track the IP address for the transaction and locate the buyer. But that would require Paypal to actually do something about it, rather than sit on their arses charging people left right centre.
  14. Apparently it's not that bad. Really depends on the clocks that you use I suppose. I had thoughts about using V6 4 Motion clocks
  15. I've heard they aren't that difficult to install. Apparently only 3cm of the dash is needed to be chopped away by the door pillars. I can see what your saying acf8181, but in a good mk3 they do look quality. Ever see Emiel's nimbus grey mk3 in PVW?

  17. I've got two sets of BBS wheels if you need them.

    New GTI ad

The polo ad is very funny, but the golf gti ad is sheer genius!
  19. Here's his number: 01732 887000 If you speak to him tell him Toby recommended him.
  20. For servicing and mechanical repairs I use Youngs Garage at Wrotham Heath (Just off of the M20). Nick, the guy that runs it, is an ex VW dealership mechanic but started his own business because the dealership got overrun by cowboys.

  22. Stevietots1, that is what i was thinking. I do think they look good on a few cars that spring to mind, but there are so many badly done ones that I'm thinking that I'm going to steer clear of them. I don't want my car to receive attention from the likes of max power/fast car readers anyway.
  23. Cast you votes on what you think of badboy bonnets like this:
  24. I'll take a look. Found this on GSF Carparts: 92580 CRANKSH IMPULSE SENDER GOLF3/VENTO 2.0 ADY/AEP/AGG/AKR/ABF £75.00
