No competition mate (IMO), I have just changed my 90 GTI for a 97 VR6 and I'm well pleased that I did (cept for the fuel consumption which I expect to drop once I get used to the car) Actually I still have the GTI but will probably sell it shortly. Do it, do it, do it. Tom

Cheers fellas, I will get the oil changed tomorrow, the car had just been moved off a hill so I could check the oil so hopefully that was the case. Thanks again, Tom

..KING HELL. Got round to checking the oil on the VR6 I picked up late on Sunday lastnight (in the dark) and there was absoultely none in there, not a drop, the dipstick was clean as a whislte &| All topped up now, do you reckon it would have done anything bad??? Please say "no". Tom

Heh, the filter is going on this week hopefully, it's booked in to a garage this Wednesday for a service and a check over etc. Just can't wait to get out of work now and give it the beating it deserves

Sorry mate, forgot, of coarse it runs, it's a VW Exactly The engine is pretty new and low milage, never actually had it break down on me. Kiss of death right there

Hi there, I'm planning to buy a VR6 very soon (fingers crossed and all that), is there a buyers guide about here anywhere? If not any tips or things to look out for when viewing a car. Thanks, Tom
