Thunderbird3 0
Can anyone tell me what I need to do when fitting a MOMO steering wheel, with regards to the airbag warning light, to stop it staying on after the engine has started.Do I need to plug something into the wiring harness where I have unplugged the airbag, and where can I buy one? Thanks
Slim 0
You'll need to buy a resistor to plug into the airbag socket behind the dash. There's a proper VW part for this, not sure of the part number, I got it off eBay for 50p although I think Awesome GTi stock them for a couple of quid.

Earwig 89
How does doing this affect the MOT?I want to fit a new wheel but am unsure about MOT regulations.
Slim 0
It shouldn't make a difference, as long as the airbag warning light doesn't come on, you'll be fine. I'm sure your average MOT person won't know the full factory spec of every car he tests anyway.
Russ_vr6 12
the car will not fail an mot with the airbag light on, i thought it would but iv just had my bro's car mot'd at work and my mot guy said its not a fail and i work for a main dealer so u ok on that side matey

blackmagic 0
Dont wont to throw a spanner in the works guys, but i was under the impression that quite a few insurance companys are not happy about people removing life saving safety devices from their cars. This means if their know about it or find out about it can lead to them invalidating your insurance. But hey i might be wrong
c4mbl 1
Yeh i dont think they like it mate but they should hopefully not find out.
blackmagic 0
Yeh i dont think they like it mate but they should hopefully not find out.Not always under your control, you have a serious accident that does you nasty damage because no airbag and the insurance company find out about your injury's and the vehicle inspector notices no airbag then :@ :@ :@ :@ Still its the owners choice.
