Desire68 0
I know that you are all waiting with baited breath for the results of my day at Stealth but the news is not that great.I arrived at 08.45 and left at 16.30 without the car i'm afraied. It was a great day for the mods to take place and I brought my lunch with me and read most of the mags in the corner, all seemed to be going realy well then Vince came and explained that the Manifold butterfly was binding tight when the bolts were being tightened,This only happens when the manifold is in the car and it seems to be fine when tightened out of the engin bay I felt sorry for him and he was realy apolajetic even though it wasn't his fault and he even gave me a car to drive back home in.I was gutted, today was perfect for it,now Schrick are going to have to send another manifold to Vince and then it can be fitted. I'm only 45mins away from Stealth but it was a slow drive back home today, the thing is,everything was going so well with the rest of the mods and like i said befor, today was perfect for the drive back,Gutted, just Gutted!!Mike. VR6Pete 1,455
whats the manifold butterfly ?
FishWick 21
Gutted for you Mike. My manifold flap binds aswell. My car was the grey/violet Corrado on the ramps less it's cylinder head. Vince will be looking at my flap this week and hopefully it won't have to come back home with a standard manifold. It's something to do with the bushes, Schrick are sending some out that are too tight. I saw a manifold on Saturday where the flap was too loose and it was making a horrendous noise at idle. Nevermind, sure it will all be sorted in the end.
Desire68 0
Cheers Kev,Vince told me about your car as well.I think this is very slack for Schrick.I may be wrong but i'm sure he said that your car's ok now!!
Desire68 0
whats the manifold butterfly ?The butterfly is the flap which sits inside the smaller part of the manifold and i think it regulates the air flow!![ Edited Wed May 19 2004' date= 09:14PM ]
FishWick 21
Cheers Kev' date='Vince told me about your car as well.I think this is very slack for Schrick.I may be wrong but i'm sure he said that your car's ok now!![/quote']The car or the manifold? Hopefully both, LOL! Yeah it is a bit poor of Schrick really. If I paid the full RRP for the manifold, I'd be seriously miffed but given they did a batch run of 31, odds are a couple of them will have a fault Vince discussed a way of sorting it out on Saturday by means of modding the bronze bushings, but it's not fair on him to have to do that. Guest Olly_K
thats really bad news mate. I hope to god everything goes smoothly for me. It seems everytime i put my car in for stuff like this there is always one major problem standing in the way. I must say Vince is a TOP BLOKE for giving you a car to drive home in ! nice one vince. Desire68 0
Vince told me that he would have to get another manifold from Schrick which may not be until Friday, and then there's the time to fit it as there fully booked.I'm hoping to get the car back by the weekend if possible.Do they work weekends???Mike.
