Whitedog 0
Hi folks, should be looking for some alloys soonish for my vr and really like the tt competition alloys, either polished or unpolished. Roughly what kind of price should i be paying for these, dont want to get ripped off. I understand i would pay more for them polished but any help on peoples previous purchases would be much appreciated.ta
petervr6 0
about 220-250quid polished but a lot of them need refurbing due to the laquer peeling thats the price ive been seeing them go for.
Whitedog 0
cheers pete, thought that was about right. Then another £200 ish for tyres....hmmmm
petervr6 0
no probs mate !lol
Mr Anderson 1
Would have to disagree mate. £300 would be a fair price for a non-polished set. If you can find a polished set for less than £250 let me know and I will buy them. It would cost around £200 to get a set polished properly. I have had 4 different sets of them now. petervr6 0
they come polished as standard!you should know that asyou had/have a set think it was your set i was going to buy i think? but ye ive seen 3 sets go from 220-250 on ebay but missed the auctions unfortunatley. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4623727571&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1 standard TT wheels as stated polished like i said in the previous reply you CAN get them for this price but they will prob need refurbishing. Mr Anderson 1
Not polished as I think he is talking about. They are lacqured or however you spell it. Not the same finish as mirror polished. They will only be powder coated or diamond cut if they have been refurbed and don't look any way near as nice as the original finish or a mirror polish. It can be hard to find an original set in good condition that don't require any work so I would be more than happy to part with £300+ for a set with little or no damage and a fair bit more for a newly polished set, say around £450ish without tyres
VRVIRGIN 0
I've had mine Mirror Polished and Laquered over when refurbed, no powder coating in sight. Not quite as bling as Justins, but close enuff. They set me back 320 notes and where in pretty good shape bar the kerbing. However, i have been warned about the Laquer peeling all too easy with this method, But refurbing at 35€ per wheel, i'll take the risk.
dubloke 4
have to agree with mr anderson on the price front, would be a reasonably ratty set for less than 250 imho having seen more than few sets on sale now! realistically over 300 would be more in line with a good set of "standard finish" wheels with a mirror polished set being more on top, either bought as or done after! Zonda_ 0
I'm off to look at a set complete with new Bridgestone tyres for £
petervr6 0
about 220-250quid polished but a lot of them need refurbing due to the laquer peeling thats the price ive been seeing them go for.ye they would be about 300 or over the in good condition but as i said in this post which i have quoted the price i have indicated is for the standard polished set that will need refubishing not in good condition this is what i have been seeing them go for so yes i would agree with Mr Anderson if they were polised in good condition and they would be over the 300 easy.
