gav_113 0 Posted March 13, 2006 Report Share Posted March 13, 2006 right ive gone to fit my new water pump, undone the 3 fixing bolts but i cant remove it from the block. ive tried twisting it, hitting it,pulling it but no joy!!! now half the casing has snapped off and the main body is stuck in the block, what can i do? has anyone else had this problem before?? antera309 3 Posted March 13, 2006 Report Share Posted March 13, 2006 Yes. Those things get stuck in there pretty good with all the limescale from the water.. Mine came out after a bit of persuasion with a hammer, but it sounds like yours is worse. Perhaps use some sort of chemical that will dissolve the limescale, but be sure that it is safe on iron & aluminium.I guess you could always remove the water transfer pipe from the front of the engine and try whacking the pump out from the back..
