stuey 0
Hi guys, i want to drill my airbox for a bit more induction noise on the side facing the inner wing. I'm not sure how big and how many to do, any suggestions?
just2zang 0
tbh I doubt it will make any difference, but make sure the holes are before the filter and that you are getting cold air, and maybe fit an aftermarket panel filter which is a direct replacement. stuey 0
I have a K&N panel and have removed the trumpet in the top of the box already, just not sure how to do the holes.
Petesvw 0
I put 10mm holes in my 2.0 16v!
vr6turbo 27
keep the airbox in the cupboard under the stairs and get an induction kit it will sound alot betterand you still have the standard air box for when you sell the car oni see them all the time on ebayin fact there is a massive ram air filter for sale at the momenthttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Jetta-III-VR6-P-Flo-Ram-Air-Intake-Neuspeed-not-K-N_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ38634QQitemZ8038201900QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW#ebayphotohostingjust my opinion
vr6matt 0
I drilled my airboox mate on the wingside with 10mm holes. Checked it one day after heavy rain and to my astonishment there was a puddle of water in the bottom of my airbox. Forget drilling holes just get a filter mate
stuey 0
Thanks for the opinions guys. I would like a BMC really, but i want the car to retain some refinement and i don't know how loud it would be. I have aircon so i think the usual duct down to the bottom of the bumper is out, correct me if i'm wrong. The exhaust booms a bit around 1800-2500 as it is, i like the induction noise but if was too much i would be p*ssed off. £160 is too much to risk if it is too intrusive. Petesvw 0
BMC with an air feed is pretty quiet mate, you will love the sound if you get one!
stuey 0
Perhaps i need to have a look around under the bonnet, to see if there is a way of getting a cold feed down near the bottom of the bumper.
