I'm going to service my VR soon.

Off to gsf to get leads, k&N air filter, oil.

From memory, I can't get the oil filter there, have to go to VW.

I vaguely remember reading somewhere about replacing the fuel filter.

Is this a good idea?

I have the bentley manual, and it has one small paragraph on the fuel

filter stating that VW say it will last the lifetime of the car.

Nothing about changing it, or even where it is!

So, if it's worth replacing, how do I do it?!

Thanks for any help.

basically you will need to jack the car up and get under. Pete has already stated where it is.

once you are under the car you will need to loosen both nuts on either side of the fuel filter(be careful as little fuel will disperse and make sure you take note on which way the arrow is facing) once you have got the filter off replace it with new one (face arrow in the same direction as previous) and tighten the nuts. Voila job done!

Oil filter is fine from GSF (made by MAN, its identical). I would get the fuel filter from VW. As for leads, I would not get them from GSF personally, but again go for VW/ other quality leads (depending on your pocket of course!)

vr6 leads are a pain to get hold off from vw, they just don't stock them in sets, only individual lengths!

your best bet is stay original as they are the best for the vr engine.

Try Berru leads as they are the closest to original.
