Caddyslammed 16
my drivers side front electric window does not quite work correctly, just wondering if anyone knows what is up? it goes all the way down fine, but on the way up it stops about 2 thirds of the way up and then goes all the way down again, so to get it to go right up again i have to keep pushing the up button quickly till it is all the way up, pain in the arse!!, can anyone help please? stockers 1
it proberbly needs the runners greased, take the door card off and grease all the metal bits the window uses to go up and down.
zuludong 0
berfore you go to the hassle of taking the door panel of try greasing up the seals at the sides of the windows with some sort of sylicone spray.
Caddyslammed 16
thanks you two, so both of you are saying it is going back down because of like a safety type thing, it is feeling resistance so it is going back down again, (could be a kids arm say), am i thinking correctly? Bee 0
Mine does it is well sometimes, pain in the arse.
shail 0
Mine does exactly the same. I've had the door card off and 'had a look'. Couldnt find anything obvious, but I did note that with the door card off it worked perfectly, so as above it might be worth greasing the seals.
Slim 0
Mine does that, nad has done ever since I accidentally pressed the down button when getting into the car when the window was covered in losts of bits of lumpy ice. My mechanic mate reckons I need a new window regulator.
28v6r 0
There are 2 possibilities here:1/ (Now I'm talking off the top of my head here..I think ) but if memory serves.. if you hold the drivers door lock on the full closed position i.e locked for 5-6 seconds you should see the the windows recalibrate themselves into position... I think that maybe all your problems.. is the safety mechanism needs reset.. try that OR2/ It sounds also that the control unit may be broken therfore a new regulator IS required.. !sad
Caddyslammed 16
i have just noticede that when i leave the window open and ignition off and press the keyfob to lock it up , the window always goes all the way up no problem! can anyone explain what this means, or does it narrow the problem down at all? i am going to grease the runners today anyway. stockers 1
i think its just because the sensers will be linked to the ignition, if that is off the sensers will be off aswell
Caddyslammed 16
greasing the runners did not work, so i will try and get a motor and regulator off the bay as soon as
