petervr6 0 Posted January 30, 2006 Report Share Posted January 30, 2006 been thinking about removing my plastic trims has anybody done this on an early vr mines an m-plate so this sore of year just woundered what the paint was like under the trim before i do mine and if it cleaned up well and didnt leave any marks. Matt W 4 Posted January 30, 2006 Report Share Posted January 30, 2006 Oh sorry I think its hit and miss with the paint, its more than likely gonna be scratched it just difficult to say how much and how deep. The people who have wrote about all seem to imply that the scratched are not so deep and can be t-cut out. So hopefully you won't be in need of a re-spray! Link to post Share on other sites

petervr6 0 Posted January 30, 2006 Author Report Share Posted January 30, 2006 dam same colour as mine and only a year older so maybe i might leave them then cant afford a respray at the mo just brought a house.ive got a colour coded smoothed rear bumper as well but wount look right with the archs on might just sell it an keep the archs on and spent the money on engine mods maybe.or could take them off still and see if the paints ok maybe are they hard to put back on? Petesvw 0 Posted February 2, 2006 Report Share Posted February 2, 2006 Just me two pence!I'd check under yer rear arches any way, just to see if there is any rust which might want catching before it gets too bad.Mk 2s were prone to it mate, and i dont think our beloved mk3 will be far behind!Plaggi trims hold moisture, and with no where to go, invariably the metal starts to suffer!
