Guest dwales83
i currently own a rover coupe turbo and am looking to change but am curently unsure as to what though!Ive always liked golf vr6's but think that they would be thirsty on fuel and repar bills etcanyone have any comments and are they tuneable for not silly money
binliner 0
Repair bills and servicing arent too bad at all. Petrol depends on how and where you drive it but average should be around 25mpg. Tuning isnt cheap... your average VR will get near the 200bhp mark with minor mods but to get a lot more starts to get expensive.Go and test drive some and see what you think
vdubgirl 3
As Justin said the fuel consumption isnt great but it all depends on what your use to Most average between 25 - 30 to a gallon but if you get addicted to popping it over the magical 4 grand mark on the rev counter then expect that figure to drop a bit Good luck have a scan of the web site plenty of advise and freindly people on here
matth76 1
I average 31mpg and I don't drive slowly As to what car you choose it depends on how much you have to spend. A very good VR can be picked up for between £3-4k. If you want to save money on mods look for one that has had some things done to it... will save you far more money ...and the car with the mods will be virtually the same price as a standard vr. Get one with uprated suspension and full service history and you can't go far wrong. Good luck.
duncs 0
my commute is 100 miles daily and half of that is motorway, half urban rush-hour traffic. i'm averaging 27 mpg which that considered isn't actually that bad. remove the rush hour and on clear runs i'm guesstimating circa 30 mpg+repairs ok but i'm learning the hard way to steer well clear of VW main dealer, best to DIY or find a local cheaper specialist.duncs
