stu1902 0
Hi All. Got back from work the other day to find out that my engine was ever so slightly cooked :@ . I think I've traced the problem to the themostat being buggered!. Got a new neuspeed low-temp one on order. So.....problem solved?? Nope... The second problem I have is that the aux water pump is stuck on permanently. I knew that it did stay on when the engine is hot to cut down on heat sink. However, I left the car overnight, and it was still running the morning after . I had to disconnect the engine loom to stop it. Once I reconnected it, the pump started again. I was wondering if the aux pump was controlled by a relay?? If so, where is it located? If it isn't, then I'm stumped ?! .Any suggestions gratefully received peeps!! Ta. SankysVR6 1
the Aux water pump should be on all the time when the the engine is on. And stay on for about 10-15mins after the engine is switched off regardless if the engine is hot or cold.
vr6 g3 0
Hi mate try disconecting the yellow temp sensor thats the once that works the after-run system, If it stops then its going to be that they are around
stu1902 0
Just been out to start up the motor 10mins ago. Sure enough, as soon as I connected the wiring loom, i detected the sweet, sweet sound of the water pump. Disconnected the yellow gauge...no difference. So i had a look at the control box for the after-run. Problem solved methinks!! It looks like after the engine overheated, some of the coolant got dumped on the control box, as it's bloody soaked :@ . Took the fuses out, and the pump stopped . So I'm guessing there's a short where the loom connects to the box underneath. Now I've just got to get the damn thing dryed out!!Another problem solved thanks to the VR6OC team.....Cheers Guys!!Merry Christmas
