just started having probs with clutch

the bite point is getting close to the top but the guy i bought it off said it had a clutch in not a year ago, so this is my query, any ideas as to what else could be causing this.

this has been gradually rising and also the pedal feels slighly softer than it was????

1. make sure your not traffic light grand prixing.

2. ensure you dont slip the clutch when changing gears

3. clutch couldve been done on the cheap, there are companies that use refurbished clutched, which only last about a year, clutchdirect is one of them....my mk2 had clutch problems twice....and on the third time i had an OE clutch put in.

refurbed clutches can cost 140 to fit

a decent company should charge at least 200-400 for a proper clutch + fitment.

i ve spoken to several mechanics about recon'd clutches and they all said dont dont bother. it will cost more in the long run because a recon never lasts as long as an oe one.
